I am waiting for my new computer to show up (damn UPS) and I decided to play a game on my old comp which can't play much... so.... I found a copy of the original COD which was a christmas gift to me 4 years ago, I never opened it. The Campaign is AWESOME! Beginning parts are really intense, now I'm on the british campaign which is a little underwhelming, but still kick ass!

When my new PC comes, should I checl out COD2? Does it offer the same great gameplay? Or should I just jump striaght to COD4?

Are there any other top tier military PC games woth chexcking out?

Hein ? you had COD for 4 years, and you NEVER played it ? You missed all thoses great years of Multiplayers COD, COD:UO and COD2 ?

Anyway, COD is great, you like it ? well you MUST play COD:united ofensive, COD2 and COD4 of course. Single player player of COD2 is even better than the single player of the original COD, in my opinion.

Yeah, I must have lost it, I just found it while cleaning out the attic getting the christmas tree. It's still pretty thrilling, even 4 years later! It also has pretty slick graphics, since I've been playing Xbox and PSP games recently. and Hooray for mouse control!

I will have to demo COD2 when I get the new machine. No way this old PC would run it.

The campaign for COD2 was better, but the multiplayer wasn't as good. But, I don't think either game has much of a community, so it's not like the multiplayer matters now.

No. You should just continue playing CoD as it is the best CoD. The vanilla multiplayer is still fantastic.

Actually, according to Xfire COD2 multiplayer is the third most game played online, so it still has a large community.

Personally, I thought the multiplayer and campaign in CoD4 was the best, although campaign takes only 6-8 hours to beat. I'd still get both COD2 and COD4.

Here's a question - Whenever I try to play a multiplayer game, I'm just the spectator.... A new round begins.... and I'm the spectator again. WTF?

hit esc key and join a team, when you are dead you are a spectator unless it is deathmatch or TDM, or HQ

Did the original have a D-Day mission like Saving Private Ryan?

Nope. The second one had one, but I've never played that game.

COD2 is awesome in both Single and Multi-player. One of the best 3D shooters ever.

QFT, 3 shouldn't even be mentioned as IW didn't make it.

Actually, it wasn't at all like Saving Private Ryan. You start off having to climb up the side of a cliff. From there, you proceed into some trenches and flank around behind some machine gun nests and then head into a forest to take out an ammo depot or something of the sort.

Yeah X-fire and gamespy say so. I might just purchase part 2 since I can't run part 4 at the moment.
