I'll bite. Even though I know the real reason behind your article. This content and it's massive responses are mainly to generate free traffic content, link value etc towards Gamespot. Not that I see this as something bad. Having said that, you've written such outstanding content, I'll take the bait. You say people should speak out here to make a point towards developers and simultaneously evaporate homophobia (which I would enjoy seeing). But I think you would have done better to add one should do this without anger; not loudly at all. We could all shout out for peace and understanding, but if the underlying emotion is anger, war is what you'll get. No matter what your standpoint is. And war is a worthless pile of *#. Except when it's a game of course. So I somewhat disagree. Do not do it loudly! Do it in a calm and logical matter and people won't have any reason not to take your point seriously. That'll show them.
