@Whiskey3romeo @SlothyCounter Remember there is still the 'game' part of the release, always online requirements aside. Terrible release week but Diabalo 3 didn't have to pay for that, and Blizard certainly didn't offer a AAA game as compensation. Bitch about EA all you like, but saying SimCity is a terrible game is a stupid way to do it.
In Australia, can already select game, it's downloading now, well done EA for offering decent choices. And when things like gifting in SimCity are working properly map sizes won't matter and I'll be satisfied with that game too.
Maybe gamespot will recant on their nerd rage review... maybe not.
Haven't played for six months. On the combat. there is no targeting, you can miss, and you can avoid enemy attacks. There is clipping in this game, if you're tanking as a Lancer for example you have to actively block mob attacks, bosses will hit your character backwards, it's pretty cool.
The best part is the combat, by far. Dungeons are great and take skill and gear on hard modes, at least used to. Enchanting/Masterwork system was terrible but I believe they have fixed that now.
I tried to play GW2 after it but I couldn't get into it purely due to the combat feeling stale by comparison.
If you play for story, don't bother with this one.
@Rafiky77 Yeah if they were to do it, it'd better be on the account not the console, that would be stupid. If on the account it would make sense for internet always on so you can only be logged onto one console at a time.
@sam628 The hardware upgrade means more than better graphics, look at console restrictions on BF3 multiplayer, or what was possible with Planetside. The antiquated hardware is holding back more than graphics.
Though yes I agree we will have to bend over again on price in Australia. 30% Australia tax is BS, they even do it on digital downloads, with the strength of our dollar it's impossible to justify.
Steam effectively does the same thing, same for any other digital distribution service, it's not unexpected that it would come to console. Perhaps if they treated it as a one off subscription fee, meaning DLC's are free for the life of the game it wouldn't be too bad.
