[QUOTE="ImaPirate0202"]I like it when people say MGS isn't a system seller. It makes me laugh.AgentVX

MGS is definately not a system seller. The best any MGS gamehas sold is 5.56 million copies from a supposed total user base of 115 million PS2 owners. That's slightly over "4%" of the total PS2 user base.

MGS is a niche gaming series for playstation owners, and at best moves a few systems for the Playstion. But "system seller", Bahahahaha!!! That's a good one, keep the laughs up!!!

Sorry dude, Halo and Mario moves systems, GTA and Gran Turismo moves system. Hell, even Gears of War moves systems. MGS is an above average game that only sells to a specific demographic, and that group is not mainstream, and definately is not classified as a "System Seller".

But keep trying though, I'm sure somewhere lurking in that grey matter, my post all sounds like Bullwinkle mumbo jumbo and fanboy ignorance will ignite those synapses.

fuzzysquash created a topicproving you wrong about MGS in so many ways it hurts your fanboyish statement, so go look for it, its in first pages of SW.

As of topic:

PS brand rellies in the variety. Many are saying that X360 has more variety than PS3, and its true. It was launched a year prior than PS3 for God's sake. People tend to forget that oh so simply reasoning.

Next year the battle will be really interesting, for it will be a true battle: the prices will be lower and closer. The systems willhave achieved a more mature level (in its life cicle, that is) and the best games (new ips and older franchises) will be out.

See, how a non fanboy look at the time line in this gen is way more interesting than stupid and blind fanboyism?

Sony says theyare targetingto ship 11 million PS3 by the end of 2007 (already shipped + another 5 million or so)and we have fanboys going for the jugular....whats new in SW?

People with logic know its quite unlikely to happen (well, if we take that the retailers wont buy those many units to sell to users), but Sony can ship another 6 million units if they want. MS did that. They put all those units into the retailers shelves and said that they had sold 10 million X360. Then, fanboys, explain the actual numbers of users units never surpassing 12 million?

Logic hurts fanboyism.

They can ship those many units, if they will pull a MS or manage to sell them all, we dont know. Stop this pathetic atempt at bashing everything Sony. Its getting annoying.

true but if the 360 has shipped 12 in 2 and the ps3 has done 6 in one what do you think that means????daveg1

It means that fanboys, having nothing else to bash more consistently now, are digging old and weak arguments.

Obviously we all though that the PS3 would be doing much better, before the initialprice was announced. Its comming down people. It already fell in the US, and is yuet to happen in the EU and Japan (that lower preice point in Japan didnt help as much as another price drop in this holiday season would).

SO, grow up, stop being fanboys and notice the niceties of having the guts to understand simple logic: If it was cheaper, it would be selling far better, maybe not like X360 and the Wii, but better anyways, since its sold as much as the X360 in its first year, without a game like GeoW to boost its sales yet.

Well, I do not know that mcuh about specs and such, as many here know, but I would go with a PS3 now. While I do know that the PC will receive some outstanding games in the near future (and always will), PS3 is more for your money right now.

Console game, in the end, is not about the specs when its launched, but the capacity of maximize the code running in the hardware, that will never change. So, you pay 500 USD innicialy to get better and better games in the long run.

Unfortunately, PC does make you spend money every now and then on upgrades. To those who know something about upgrades, overclocking and such, a lot less than those who know squat.

So, both are good choices, both have pros and cons.

PS- I was already thinking about my next upgrade.....I see I may end up waiting a little longer for those Nvidas 9000 series...heheeh...my 7600GTS will have to hold for now, unless I find a cheap *** 8600 and so on (not easy here on Brazil...but, at theleast, the prices are declining fast)

Time, well, lack of it really. I have the money, the will, but not the time to enjoy it. I could buy the three, but besides the time to play the games: Wii have nothing the interests me, and X360 most interesting games eventually goes PC, and mine isnt that dated that it cant run most of them in good enough quality (for me that is), so, its mostly time that still makes me wait for a new gen console purchase.

I will end up buying whatever I feel like in the end anyway. And its tilting to PS3 side.

I agree with you. Its this pathetic hate circle that gives life to SW that made the MS fanboys says that LO is just A now, after BD failed to reach its hype. We all know that last year every single MS fanboy were hypeing LO as the FF killer AAAA material. Now, after Sakaguchi failed to present a sucessor to its previous sucess with FF in BD, they are simply undermining its next attempt to surpass FF, playing it safe as the quoted sayed.

Quote me on this if you want, but if LO reaches above AA, maybe even AAA status, we'll be seing "I knew it" to "Its FF killa!!11"from all the fanboys here.

PS - Lost Odyssey can be a great game, it has the potential, lets just see what it happens.

Now, on topic: whats best? Wait to receive something done right, or receive something half a**** (MS I AM LOOKING AT YOU HERE!) pretty fast?

I know my answer, and thats just it, its mine. Enjoy yours. Simply dont go pestering others because you think your's better.

CaseyWegner

every singe one, huh?

FANBOYS Casey, fanboys. Those I get banned forwhen I slam them when I report. Those rabid stupid ones (and we all know who they are - specially when they do new accounts for ban dodging, they keep the same hate pathern) who are always creating fanboy and flame wars. Notice that I classify them diferently: MS/Sony/Nintendo fans are those who are vocal about their preferences but not rabid bashers of everything else, and fanboys are exactly that, fanboys who will bash simply because its not on their chosen platform.

Sorry if havent explained before. And, to put it once again, thats just my opinion about what its likely to happen next year when LO gets out of Mistwalkers Studios and onto the gaming world. I do have plenty of confidence that I will be dead right in this one.

[QUOTE="D0013ER"]Think of which has been hyped more: Home, or Lost Odyssey. Cedmln

Lostodyssey hyped AAA home was hyped as much as lair hyped AA my logic wins!!! (not really lol) but you get my point :D

Office LO Hype thread is A, not AAA.

Yeah. I like how lemmings are lying to themselves by underhyping it what it is truely hyped.

It may be A on the papers, but its AAA and teh FF killer on lemmings minds.

They are playing it safe. Nobody wins when they play it safe.

And its all because of Sakaguchi's (whatever his name is) big mouth and reputation and the flop of BD.

FF VI woulde be sweet indeed. Its almost there, with FF VII and X, as my favorite FF. VIII would please me too, tough it had some things I didnt like that much, it was a great FF. In the end, we all want to play those great games again...I also would love to have the time I had to play in those times...since Ihave none nowadays....(Ps- I am writing this in my job...taking care as of not being seeing by my boss....)

Well, IMO, it was FFVII who put Sony's Playstationon its tracks to gaming world domination. It had very good games, but not one like FFVII, a legend on its own. To this day its considered the best FF by many, and still has a large fanbase under its wings. and, of course, IT STILL MAKES SE MONEY!

A re-make would certainly cement PS3 user base into a few millions, Japan alone. FF brand will make PS3 at least another 3 million users Japan alone (IMO, no fact, just my opinion). A FFVII remake would double that easily.

Observing that MS has no (not really, even NG2 doenst matter that much to Japan gamming market, because it is on X360) presence in the japanese market, PS3 selling better there may help to ofset the X360 one year long leadership faster.

Fanboys may cry an ocean if they want, FF is a system seller all around the world, and if a re-make of one of the most beloved games in the franchise arises yet again on Sony's main machine....

thenorminator

why would it do all that when you can play it now on the PS3. or i'm i wrong

No you can, and you can buy it for like $5. to make people spend full price for a remake is the deffinition of milkage.

i agree with you. i was asking the guy i was quoting a question

TO answer your questions: of course you can pick up your old FFVII and play it on PS3 with a better res. OF course, but, if SE makes a remake as a fan service, lets say, why not put some more content? More quests? a lot of other mini-games? besides, of course, of the all new tech they could use to implement graphics and, maybe a evolved andbetter gameplay? You know, BD disc space would allow that.

Some guys want so much to close their eyes at the prospect of X360 finishing last this gen because of a game like FFVII being remade to PS3, that they cant see such things?

I wont close my eyes tho that. All three have great chances of finishing whatever position you can thinkwhen this gen dies (in Nintendo and MS fashion - new consoles, while their older ones dies immediatelly, while Sony still goes with the PS3 and a new console)in a about 4-6 years (supposedly). Now, if some guys dont want to play a evolution of a great game, that isnt my problem, and millions of fans would love to play it again, not to say those who never played it and would have a go at a classic in new, and hopefully, better encarnation.

So, thats my answer. "oh...the milkage!111'1" and whatever other spinsfanboys mayuse doenst matters to me, or the FFVII fans, or SE if they do make a remake of it.
