Don't judge a genre by a single game. Usually MMORPGs don't have cutscenes (or even a story that would be worth a cutscene) and contain only a fracture of the variety that FF14 offers.
Thank you all! I've bought Ni No Kuni, but not sure about Atelier series for ps3 - they got quite low metascore ratings, are they really this bad? Is Totori really much better then others?..ariana365
I liked them. I haven't played older Atelier games but they can't be that much better. From what I heard, Rorona added quite a few new things, like differing item quality. Totoro most definittely is the best part of the Arland trilogy to me, but Meruru isn't far behind. It's mainly that I liked the characters in Totori more. Rorona is quite a bit worse, mainly because it has a few inconveniences in the menu controls. Totori fixed all that and made the system a much smoother experience. But this doesn't make Rorona a bad game - it just feels very unpolished compared to the other two. I haven't played Ayesha yet.
It started as soon as you selected the orange spot. You have to find the next spot on the map by placing the cursor on it. The text gives hints about the location.
It also counts if the enemy finds undeniable evidence of your presence. Corpses, destroyed equipment, explosions, or just too much noise (like, calling the same guy over several times) can make the enemy go into alarm state. And yes, loading a checkpoint reverts everything you did in the meantime (except the collection of laptops and data sticks).
Tekken Revolution has a pretty decent F2P build, so I'm not concerned about that. I trust that Namco-Bandai will do something similarly good with ACI. My main concern is, wether this game will be more of an Unsung War (= great) or an Assault Horizon (=meh).
Personally, I would rather it not be free-to-play. A subscription fee ensures that everyone's on the same playing field, not paying for content free players don't have access to. That isn't how an MMO, or any game for that matter, should operate. JustPlainLucas
Free to play doesn't necessarily mean "if you don't pay you only get half the game". The purchases could also be of cosmetic nature only; recoloring gear would be a great candidate. Or some exclusive mounts. For me, the montly subscription is the only reason why I don't buy this game. Even thoufgh I hate 99% of all MMOs I've played, I'd gladly buy this one. But I'll never pay for time. That's almost like forcing me to play the game excessively for a whole month - and that's really a concept games shouldn't operate on.
Winning a 1on3 in WarRock against a set of clanmates* with considerably more experience than me. Thanks to my high experience with stealth games I managed to outmaneuver them and give them additional buttholes (literaly). Only one round of that best-of-5 match though. * not my clanmates, I was just a random newbie who was put against them.
