I have recently gone back to being a basic member from having total access. I know that basic members can't access other site themes but I thought we could at least switch from the light to dark basic theme. However, this is no longer in my options. I seem to be stuck on the light theme. Has Gamespot done away with the light vs dark theme?

Your friend's husband is mistaken. What he probably downloaded was a system file that (at the time PS3's did have BC) allowed the use of the PS3 hard drive for use with PS2 games that used a hard drive (Final Fantasy XI).lyndonAPI
Aha, thank you very much, that probably explains it.

So can you download the Singstar patch without the game?

A friend's husband recently picked up a PS3 - one of the newer 80GB ones that is not backwards compatible with PS2 games. He swears that he just went to the Playstation Store and downloaded a patch that will let the console play PS2 games. (He's not trying to fake me out - he is acting genuine.) Now AFAIK there's no such patch, so the only thing I could think of was that he downloaded the SingStar PS2 patch and is confusing that with being able to play ALL PS2 games, not just SingStar titles. The thing is, they don't own any SingStar games. Would the PS Store even let him download a patch without owning the game? The only way I have seen a patch work on the PS3 is to put the game disc in, and it will tell you there's a patch... I haven't seen any you can just download whether you have the game or not.

Hi, I'm new to the PS3. In the Playstation Store I can find some LocoRoco Cocoreccho wallpapers but I can't find the game/"screensaver" itself. Where do I go to download it?

It seems like all games that have TBA for their release date are showing in the tracking list with a release date of Dec. 31, 2007 or Dec. 31 2008, although their individual pages do say TBA. I don't think these are confirmed as cancelled. (I know the Bob Ross one was possibly cancelled, but they mentioned trying to find another company to make it, I think.) Here are some examples: Bob Ross Painting for DS California Games for PSP The Silver Case for DS Blackwell Unbound for PC The City of Metronome for PC (actually showing Dec. 30, 2007) Fez for PC Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for Wii ...and the list goes on. I think that games which are still TBA should be shown in the lists as TBA ( or TBA 2008 ) and not with a misleading release date.

When will the Ice theme be available for Gamespot Wide? It works here in the forums but not on the rest of the site. It comes up looking like Standard Dark.

Sometimes the site itself logs you out, and sometimes you have to dump your browser cookies (although the autofill will still remember your passwords). It obviously is a big deal if other users feel the same way.

I do have Adblock shut off, and am using the beta Flash 10. Oh well, it's working today so maybe someone fixed it.
