@BeefoTheBold: All I can say is I hope this is how it goes. That there is a good faith effort; but I don't always see it that way.

I am one of those that doesn't like Pride month because it's about celebrating a relatively small portion of the population for 1/12th a year which comes off as a severe overcorrection in terms of equality among peoples. Gay friends of mine don't like it either since it puts them, into a spotlight they didn't ask for, and they don't like it when others speak for them. A gay person doesn't have an individual voice in so much as it must be thee voice of the LGBTQ+ community. And heaven forbid you are a gay person who doesn't like pride marches. (They also overtly sexualize them.)

Even Black and Latino History month seem obtuse in the sense we will never separate the webs of race from society. Morgan Freeman said it best about not believing in Black History month. I feel we only reach solidarity when we aren't making things all about a race or gender orientation. Like I would be happy that we just love the fact every. day. of. the. year. is Black, Latino, Asian, etc. day.

But alas, we must continue our Racial Pedagogy so we can continue to pit tribes against each other. I fear we will never reach solidarity with anybody anytime soon, and I feel Progressives want this. They use holistic ideals of 'diversity' to disguise the fact they want these fractures in the way we view identity politics. The more fractured; the more call to arms for diversity. We live in a world - in 2021 - where we are *still* beating the diversity drum and it keeps getting louder every year. Why is that? Why are companies pushing harder, far harder than 10 years ago for more diversity and more inclusion? It's always more and never enough. Are we more racist? Or is there some large gaslighting experiment forcing us to feel more racist? There is an ickyness to the way we are being manipulated into racial awareness. In the 90s, I felt it wasn't this bad, when we had shows like Fresh Prince on TV and my family would watch it like they were equal citizens.

That's the issue I see. Let's cut through this façade and just accept all walks of life equally by just doing that. 90s inclusion was best inclusion. Change my mind.

@BeefoTheBold: I wish that were true. I wish I still had a smaller view of diversity. I understand diversity is a good thing, and it can be added. I don't care if I play a black person, my Commander Shepard is black (and I'm white). The issue I have is when a company says: "It's all about diversity" they go to these lengths of making it all about that.

I'm sorry, but no. If a character is Asian or gay, just do it. I liked how Anders was written in Dragon Age II. I'm not a fan of games enforcing the point. The phrases: "We chose this game because of diversity." Or, "We chose this character to represent..." are ruining diversity for me. That's the thing I don't like about it. It comes off as they're shattering their own glass ceilings.

The best diversity is the kind that works well for the plot, and pacing and doesn't feel like it must be in there. Only good writers can do that. Often, gay writers, like the lead of David Tennant era of Doctor Who (Russell T. Davies), wrote the most compelling and human gay and bi characters I have ever seen. Far better than the characters we have in recent seasons. Which seem forced at times. Catch my drift?

@shamatuu257: You're forgetting about the chip shortage and the fact the Switch is already doing quite good,

So, every time we announce the genderfluid Loki, we will have to say the genderfluid Loki? I don't mind, but it does seem like more keyboard key presses to type out genderfluid Loki every time we talk about genderfluid Loki.

Also Elizabeth Olsen killed it. Holy smokes! I think she's excellent at keeping composure and 'stonewalling' it!

While this is about sex, watering down popular characters because of the insecurity that some might find it offensive is a pretty depressing issue going on in Western Nations.

As a writer, you have to kind of put your brain into the headspace of your character and go with it. The second I'm writing a character and think: "Gee, will X find this offensive?" and then I proceed to rewrite a facet of my character to adhere to the lowest common denominator of offended peoples, I end up losing a big part of personality of that character. If it seems my protagonist is going to do something potentially unlikable, I'd rather they do it and see how that develops than not do it at all and lose any kind of responsibility/credibility I have as a writer to tell engaging, authentic stories (Also any integrity I have in my characters).

I always figured writing 'safe' characters turns out to not be fun or engaging.

That's pretty freaking bold of them. The game hasn't released yet. It's like Saban Group (& Bandai Namco) rebooting Power Rangers and talking it up huge, only for it to flop.

At first, I thought the score was shocking, an 8 out of 10? This game series was clearly a 10/10. But then I realized, 'was'. The remaster, while a noble goal, doesn't really pop out as outstanding. The changes in ME1 are great, but less so in ME2 and ME3. I may push it closer towards a 9/10 myself, but I totally understand that as far as remakes go, this wasn't particularly thrilling.

In fact, we should be impressed a game can get touched up and in 2021 still hold well at an 8. If ME1 had a complete overhaul that'd be a different story, but the way I see it I'd rather see a ME4.
