I've just remembered I have this game. I've decided to go back to playing it through again after playing it when it first came out years ago.

Obviously though its showing its age now. I know there was a healthy modding community for it though. Does anyone have any opinions on which mods will best take the edge off?

cheers

Hello all

Its come to the point where Im thinking of getting a new screen.

Also my flatmate may be moving out some time soon and will be taking his screen with him.

So im thinking of getting a 32" or maybe slightly smaller and buying one screen for both purposes.

It has to be full 1080p (obv) and It would be great to find one with a high refresh rate, but im struggling to find anything that meets all these criteria and doesnt cost a stupid amount.

any reccomendations?

I'm looking for advice on a new midrange motherboard and processor. I'm currently stuck with a 32 bit board in a 64bit world but as i upgrade these parts so infrequently i'm not really sure whats out there.

The board needs to be a midi case board rather than tower. If possible an IDE connection as well as SATA but im figuring thats not really going to happen with todays motherboards.

I have a Radeo HD6870 so im hoping to stick with AMD. I dont have a huge amount to spend and kind of want to stick to around £250 and under for motherboard and processor... I suppose i'll probably need to buy som RAM as well but we'll see what the prices are like.

Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Hey I'm not a massive expert on processors but So long as the sockets are the same on both the processor and the motherboard they should be okay.

according to the AMd website your processor is a socket AM3

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/#specifications

and the ASUS website states that the motherboard supports AM3

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/#specifications

So you should be okay.

Im not really anoverclocker so I cant really say whether Overclocking is a possibiity with this board

Hope his helps

okay so ive moved my PC into the lounge while my flatmates are away to use the 32" for gaming. Howver I cant get a 1920x1080 res when I hook it up using the VGA cable i'll only give me a max of 1360x768. but then when I use a VGA to HDMI I can get full res (but it looks terrible). The thing is, I'm pretty sure I've run it at 1920x1080 on this tv before. anyone know where I'm going wrong this time.

Okay, so Crysis 2 is a major let down for those of us who played Crysis.

SkyWard20

You've already failed your own thread.

*facepalm*

Having now played through the whole thing (with the latest patches which fixed most of the most annoying bugs) I can confirm that I now like this game. Not as much as Warhead, but I like it again. At some point in the game I even found myself shouting at the ceph to "bring it!" whilst I gave them a healthy dose of lead poisoning courtesey of the Heavy machine gun I'd torn from its emplacement... which is the kind of emotional experience I think most gamers want from their games.

One thing I did notice actually though was that the guns sound a lot meatier in Crysis2, there's a very satisfying chug as you fire you machine gun which is usually followed by the equally satisfying sound of the bullets hitting home on some poor unfortunate who got in the way.

Maybe I should've given it more of a chance before I decided to hate it

Shouldn't this thread be called something witty like Maximum Amour?

LordRork

Ha Brilliant! I couldnt think of anything witty... But I think you win with that. Next time I'm writing a thread I'll come to you for a name first

@Maddie_Larkin I'd completely forgotton how much I disliked the second half of the original, good point.

Thanks guys, you've made me want to play it again

Okay, so Crysis 2 is a major let down for those of us who played Crysis.

Its Buggy (my melee stops working whenver I die and my shotgun can only carry 10 slugs), its lost the classic Crytek sandbox approach to levels, and its yet to make me shout 'come get some mother*******!' at the screen in the same way the final 10 minutes of warhead did.

But there has to be something good to be said about the single player...right?

I really want to like this game but things keep getting in my way. so those of you who've actually played it (on PC) help me out here...
