Finally, a comments page that doesn't consist of "WTF PS3 SUX!!!" "NO YOU (insert homophobic slur) XBOX players are (insert another more colourful homophobic slur)" or " I disagree with your review score and misunderstand the concept of critial opinion so therefore you must be corrupt!"
Yes... welcome to the thinking man's corner of Gamespot
now excuse me whilst I light my pipe and go sit in my armchair by the fire.
i'm kinda hoping the armour flashlight is optional. Some of the most terrifying moments I've ever had on my PC involved switching between my torchlight and the assault rifle only to find i was firing at nothing and my target had already out flanked me a stabbed me in the back
to be honest I liked that i didnt have my hand held all the way through the Witcher in terms of the story. It actually made me seek out and read the books ( the ones that that have been translated that is) it felt like there was history to Geralt that most games protagonists lack
a lot of people are bemoaning the fact that Mark is comparing the Vita to phones and tablets etc. and not focusing on the gaming potential of the device. But I think he makes his case well. This is a portable device, which will most likely be used on short trips and when you have a little bit of time to kill. The majority of peoples time spent gaming will be on home consoles and computers. Therefore convenience and ease of use is of massive importance. If you've got a ten minute train ride and you've got to spend three minutes of that wrestling with a UI and load times you're less likely to bother.
Good editorial Yeah we're gamers, yeah we spend a lot of our time in fantastical imaginary worlds. but we can still argue rationally and eloquently in the real world ...and if that doesn't work we'll challenge you to Goldeneye on slappers only
