I've never said Blizzard was hurting for money. there you go with your strawmen again. tsk, tsk. Once again, you are treating World of Warcraft as if it is the only horse that Blizzard has in the race.
Then you start bringing up "whiners" and "last legs" and your whole argument just descends into some weird Blizzard fanboyism and half-formed fallacies. I'm sorry.
1.) Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said "purely", "solely", "only" or any other similar adjective.
2.) If you make a game free, you usually have no subscribers.
3.) WoW's subscriptions are as low now as prior to Burning Crusade, and nearly half of their peak. Yet the sub fee has not changed. So you are telling me that Blizzard is making as much off of 6.8M subs @ $15 as they did with 12M @ $15. Amazing accounting
4.) Diablo 3, not WoW, was Blizzard's bread-earner the past year. But we're talking about WoW and it's profitability, not how much Blizzard makes overall.
The cinematic was too limited :( For such an important ex-pack (trying to bring back subscribers after they have lost so, so many), the cinematic should have been epic in scope. But it wasn't.
