It's inevitable, simply because of the heightened importance video games have taken in the wider world of media. I can't imagine gaming would be such a popular (and mainstream) hobby if all games were as tough as those real old-skool challengers (and the odd new-school game like Ninja Gaiden). Personally, I don't care for brain-bending challenges in my games (Ninja Gaiden was was too tough for me). That's not to say I like to breeze through all my games easily, but I'd rather take a "dumbed down" game than a challenging one that ends up frustrating me.

Final Fantasy VII. I just enjoyed it more, and it was one of the first few RPGs I really got into.

1. Do all playstation 1 memory cards work with the slim PS2 or is it only specific ones?

2. If it was imported (Japan) would it work on an American console?

I appreciate any help, thank you

Post_

For the first question, I was under the impression all PlayStation memory cards worked on all PS2 models. I've used official PlayStation memory cards in my slim PS2 (and a couple of unofficial brands) and they seemed to work just fine. On the second question, I don't think it would matter. There is something to gain for the companies by region locking games, but locking memory cards by region has no real benefits. Still, I've never imported and tried it so hopefully someone else can give a more concrete answer.

Super Smash Bros. Melee. Fantastic array of characters from past and present, excellent (and fairly well balanced) combat system, top-quality audiovisuals, and a huge fun factor. What more could you ask for?

Tough to narrow it down to just one, but it would probably have to be Super Mario Bros. 3. I also really loved Battletoads, although it was mega-tough.

Medievil (one masterpiece that deserves a sequel)

nVidiaGaMer

I remember that game! And as I've been reminded of it, I'll go ahead and recommend it. I'm pretty sure it did get a sequel though.

Probably Mario Kart 64, with Super Smash Bros. at a close second.

Good to hear it's enjoyable. I absolutely adored the first game but never played any of the sequels. I might try this one out sometime, but I'm afraid bias and nostalgia might hinder my enjoyment :(

It's by far the 360 controller for me, but since this is the Legacy Platforms forum... I'll probably say the slimmed-down Xbox controller. The Dualshock model has been hugely successful (and it's influenced a lot of design work, particularly on the Microsoft controllers), but I much prefer a higher left-analog stick. If the GameCube controller had a half-decent analog stick, that would probably be up there but I could never get any good grip on it. As for the Dreamcast controller: I loved the console and the VMU was pretty cool, but I think it was a pretty bad controller. I remember it rather uncomfortable to play for long periods of time, the controller cord inexplicably ran from the bottom of the controller (which instantly cuts the distance you can sit away from the TV), and I didn't like the analog sticks either.

I've gotten the most out of my Dreamcast, so no. If Sega re-entered the console market with a new machine though, it might be another story
