POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP! Let's see here IW, I'm sure you are quite aware that this is a rebuilding year for you guys, your least proud moment in the history of Call of Duty, when you think all flash and nothing in the form of the addictive play style we used to love about COD. Now I take you plan to continue beating the dead horse by boasting about this all-fantastic game mode where you get to play against only one or two other players! Go ahead, enjoy your time on vacation, sipping pina coladas, hanging out on the beach and crystal-clear ocean water, thinking everyone is going to buy your product regardless. But lemme tell you something, the time is now to SHAPE UP and announce content that people are ACTUALLY GOING TO COMMEND YOU FOR, because it is only a matter of TIME before we all smart up and your once-proud organization will line up the walls of bankruptcy court. Just as you guys became fed up with Atari 30 years ago and left to start your pioneering company, the time may soon be that we the gamers will be fed up and send YOU to the gaming graveyard.
All I can say after playing TDU2 and finding out it is a watered-down excuse of an excuse of a racing game.... GOOD. Hope this teaches a lesson to other developers to think before releasing an inferior product.
Doesn't surprise me I'm surprised Nintendo has even been staying above water in the days since the N64 - especially as game publishers were leaving GameCube in the dust... of course the Wii did pioneer motion-sensing technology and the hardcore gaming audience is a minority. But if M$, Sony can tap into the audiences Nintendo captivates (families, mostly) as they seem to be doing Nintendo could very well go the way of Sega.
I think it will be a vastly upgraded San Andreas... featuring LA, SF and - hard to believe that no one gave any thought to it - Las Venturas. I believe it will take place in the present day to reflect the changes to society since even GTA IV - the proliferation of the smartphone, Facebook, Twitter (all of which did exist in 2008 but not as ingrained into our society then).
No offense to Sony fans here, but this could be the beginning of the end of the PlayStation. Sony had already been at a deficit within its games division and even if it was profitable at best before the PSN outage that is now on Day 18 I don't think Sony could ever rebuild its reputation. Maybe it's time to see titles like Motorstorm and MAG on Xbox LIVE.
The only thing is, AI power has yet to even come close to being able to make the number of processes per second that a human can. For at least the forseeable future, players can dominate against AI bots in multiplayer games that you can use them in (Gears of War 2, Black Ops) but be sorely mistaken in their abilities once they go online against real human opponents.
This is why the Gamescore system is not authentic - some achievements of the same value are harder than others. Right now I've stopped caring about my gamerscore. Until M$ spends more time making achievements and their values what they should be I'm not inclined to go chasing after any. This especially after they made the latest 8 achievements in Gears do-able in non-ranked matches, and EVEN (that's right) LOCALLY! Even more so, what's the point of your gamerscore, aside from bragging rights? No one's gonna kick you from matches just for a low gamerscore. Besides, I value my gamerscore based on achievements I have not how many points - i.e. I like to show I've accomplished certain things in games but not getting a specific gamerscore.
