You can feel however you like about his opinions, but show Carmack a little respect. This man and id Software singlehandedly made all of the most important leaps in technology in the history of the game industry. They introduced 3D gaming, and they introduced online gaming.
Self-assessment is great, and I applaud you both for realizing that many of us are all guilty of this particular hypocrisy and for writing about it. But I think you picked the wrong site to post it on. As you may have noticed, there's not much objectivity to go around among the readers of Gamespot. Read a few of the comments below and you'll quickly find that metacognition is pretty much wasted on this audience.
I actually really enjoyed Star Wars: Bounty Hunter back in the day. Too bad they'll probably never revisit that IP. Jango was a great character to play as, and I bet Boba would be too.
@SDSkarface That's incredibly sad, actually. Both because that's the worst reason to play a game and because these "next-gen" graphics aren't even close to industry leaders like BF3 and the Crysis games.
Now, THIS looks good. It's about time something like this was made. You can tell Ubisoft Montreal has the same people doing the voice acting for this that did it for Splinter Cell: Conviction, though. That event organizer on the cell phone was the same voice actress who played Anna Grimsdottir.
