@mled: Exactly! Also, what do they consider as complaints? Is the BBB's data representative of actuality? Do complaints on their public forums count as a complaint? They should! What about e-mails and private messages? They should, too! What is the requirements for it to be considered as a complaint? Because, looking at the EA-Bioware forums for The Old Republic, I can sure as hell assure you that there is well over thousands of complaints that weren't resolved by costumer service.
What if the bill passes? Then what? Nothing. Websites that are run by servers internationally won't be affected by the bill. Hence the law doesn't apply. Something else will take YouTube's place. GameSpot is only worried because of the many minor lawsuits that will entail due to video-reviews and gameplay previews. I am, in no way, supporting this butt****ery that is the SOPA bill. All I'm saying is, the internet will survive.
I haven't seen as many recent games that are based about complex topics. Oldies like Castlevania, FF:Tactics, Xenogears and possibly FF:X speak volumes about religion and personal faith in a fictitious context.
As much as I love Nintendo, I have to admit that it made the mistake of catering toward casual audiences. Had they remained with the same mindset back when they were on the NES, SNES and N64 days, gamers may actually agree on a favorite console! :O
Stories are the reason why I play games. The fact that most new-gen games' storylines got dumbed down to the equivalent of Pac-Man's really bothers me.
Dragon Age 2 had multiple villains. If you were siding with the templars, it was the mages, and vice versa. If you were an extremist, it was the Qunari, and if you were a supporter of the Qunari, it was that extremist from the Chantry. The whole game is an attempt to describe the political game. There is no black and white nor any obvious villain in the game. Each faction had its own ideals that conflicted with other factions. It reminded me of FF Tactics, except FF Tactics gave much more depth to the motives of each faction in the political game. DA2's ideas on the story were commendable but executed poorly.
