It isn't the movie playback that makes the console so expensive to begin with, it's the fact that the machine is capable of reading BRDs. Unless the games themselves stopped shipping on BRDs, there would be no reason for them to strip out the codecs for playback to charge less; adding that features costs them almost nothing by comparison.
Mmmm... Veronica Belmont. I mean, uhh... Go Xbox? I think it's good that she stressed the PS3 is still new and has some potential, but I doubt that will stop the Sony fanboys' hate mail.
