Not sure if this is even worth it to write about. Most pc gamers only buy digital games. The only games that I buy from retail stores, are Blizzard games. Only because they often include some cool extras and art of the box is really cool. Althoug, I did preoreder my digital copy of Overwatch.
So, the pc gaming community will make the mods, and then the console players will access that content. I thought that console gamers would make their own mods.
@adynegru Very unlikely, especially since even AMD will soon lunch their HD8000 series, leaving the new "nex-gen" consoles, and current partners behind. Is just the way it is, right now consoles are so behind pc, and the upcoming consoles are already surpass, and they are not even out.http://www.pcper.com/news/Editorial/Epic-Games-disappointed-PS4-and-Xbox-One
@okno123svk @dkeppens Onlive works different from what MS is trying to do, the compress the data, and you know what do your research here http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-in-theory-can-xbox-one-cloud-transform-gaming
@xxYetterxx @MrDoomLWest I did, and I agree with them, I don't see most of the upcoming games take advantages of this. I doubt that developers will put extra effort on one console more that the others. It makes more sense to make the game for the pc, and port it for PS4, XboxOne. But I think that Microsoft don't want to look week in front of the PS4, 1.8 teraflops, against 1.2 of the XboxOne.
Of course is BS, back in 2011 when Epic reveal the new Unreal Engine 4, they said, that the next gen consoles will need 2.5 teraFLOPS to really take advantage of this engine. At the end the demo was play on pc with a single GTX 680. When the PS4 was reveal, and they said 1.8 teraFLOPS, I was not surprise. Still they think is a supercharge pc. Also the UE 4 demo play on the PS4 is different from the PC.
But the whole issue with the cloud and the XobxOne, is the lag, you not only need to download the info from the servers, you also have to upload data from your game. If you are playing a fighting game, there will be data send from your system, like a punch, yet for the physics to be download from the cloud, it could take some serious nanoseconds, that translate into a drop in frame rate. The only way that this could work is on games like mmo games or big open space games, it will affect the npcs, but not directly the gamer. Is just Microsoft blowing smoke, also, EA trying to encourage gamers to get into the next consoles.
