I think that it is really arrogant to think that we are the only planet (not just in the galaxy, but the universe) that has life of any sort on it. Just because we don't hear any chatter from within our galaxy doesn't mean that we are alone. That could just mean that if there is a planet out there with life on it, but it could be a different part in it's evolutionary stage. It could be in the "dark ages" or something and not have the tech to send out signals.
Loved the video and the guest you had on there. I do like how somewhat plausible the sci-fi is in Portal, but that's not why I played it. I played it because it was fun. If I wanted to learn about physics (or other fields) that is possible in the real world, I would take a class.
