@leechmilk5 Due to the Read-Only nature of optical media such as the BD-ROM's used in PS4, there is no way for the hardware to know whether or not the game is used. Unlike Xbox One, the PS4 does not force installation to the HDD and does not force you to connect to the internet for authentication. The only restrictions third parties could ever place on a PS4 game, is by forcing you to buy an online pass for playing online (this sucks but was started in current gen systems), but there is no way for them to lock out from single player.
