Hey katydiddd, I'd just like to thank you first off for giving me all that positive feedback on my Epic Mickey videos under the name 'Duncan Will'. It's a creative name, I like it. Secondly, the topic that lonlon was posting so aggressively on has been locked, so I think our voices were heard at last. He's commented on one of my videos, I responded calmly to him so we'll see how that goes.

Also, all this time I've been wondering who Duncan Will is, and I always had a hunch it was you! Now I know.

Again, thanks for the support, hope you enjoy the videos, and keep on posting!

.... and yes, as you probably know by now from lonlon's post, my real name is Bobby.....

This has GOT to be the biggest lie any worker on Epic Mickey 2 has told. According to this extract from the official guide: http://www.primagames.com/games/disney-epic-mickey-2-the-power-of-two/primaguides/317/walkthrough/18281/1

there are '120' different endings. What. There are two maximum. Mad Doctor lives or dies. What do you make of this?

Direct quote:

The big challenge for the QA department was just testing all the possible ways to play through the game. There are few limitations on where the player can venture after a certain point in the game. So, testing all the variations we could was a very difficult challenge. We ended up doing hundreds and hundreds of playthroughs of the game in as many different ways that we could. We got every ending variation in the game, which added up to the 120 range, I think.

Take a look at these: http://melchorportfolio.wordpress.com/epic-mickey-2/#jp-carousel-59

Yet ANOTHER Disney employee has posted their EM2 concept art on the net. Here, we can see several areas that weren't in the game, such as that utterly terrifying melting Pinocchio face - what?!

Plus, this one is interesting: http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2illustration4.jpg?w=700&h= note that this area isn't in the game. Also note the shadow of the Mad Doctor on the floor - it's easy to tell that this was pretty important.

http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2environment2-e1359697029614.jpg?w=1000&h= this one is weird. Where was this in the game? Nowhere. If you look in the background, you can see Rainbow Falls, so clearly this was an extension of that area or somesuch.

Now this one's a gem: http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2environment3-e1359696173301.jpg?w=1000&h=

It's the Attic, but note two things: the TV is still there, but it now has this demonic eye in it, hinting that it was originally going to have a lot more... violent... purpose than just broadcasting a silly TV show, like we got. Also look behind the vault door - in the game, that leads to the projector to the final boss. Here? No projector, and you can see machinery inside the vault, showing that the area would have extended further. So here's my theory of what they were going to do with the plot - the Mad Doc would have used the TV to open a portal to the real world, then send an army up there or something. Just a thought. Oh, and there's no TV camera 'ant' in the picture either, so that was clearly a rushed addition. I also wished they'd kept the lightning - a lot more epic.

And this: http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2enviornment.jpg?w=1000&h= I still can't get over that *shudder*... what the heck is it?!

This too: http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2environment7.jpg?w=700&h= it's some Mean Steet art. But note the title: 'Iterative Process'. An iterative process is when a place or object goes through a series of versions, or 'iterations'. We can apply this knowledge to the picture: note how in each panel Mean Street gets more and more destroyed. Clearly something epic was going to happen to Mean Street in the game.

http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2environment4-e1359696926980.jpg?w=1000&h= More Attic art.

And where is this?: http://melchorportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/epicmickey2environment2b-e1359696998279.jpg?w=1000&h=

That's a lot of theories. What do you guys think? Enjoy looking at the art! Just don't get nightmares....

There's still hope for EM2. Maybe they've finally listened to the complaints and are going to release the game in its full form this time, without truncation and better controls. Me? I'll wait and see the reviews. What about you guys? What do you think?+

Not really relevant in any way, but a minor nitpick from me after watching this: http://vimeo.com/61507605

It's the game's ending, direct from the animators, Plastic Wax.

Would it really have killed them to add the extra voices to the parade ending (cheering and chanting Oswald's name), as seen in the video?

OK, I have literally only just noticed this, but it's so obvious. Look on the back of the game's instruction booklet. In the upper right, there's an ink splodge with Mickey and Oswald flying out of it. Look at the upper right of the splodge. There, you'll see a mansion-like building that isn't Lonesome Manor (because that appears rather obviously in the same picture) that never appears in the game. The same building also appears on a loading screen (at 6:35 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaVaGhV2kMM) and in the Mad Doctor's diary, as part of Ventureland (0:28 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhL7lNPdjaA).

What do you guys think? It appears thrice in various game media, so it was clearly going to have a purpose. And yet, no explanation.

I've emailed Mr. Amador - currently awaiting a response. Here's hoping he's as generous as Mr. Fenton! Will update soon.

The following post is from a topic that I started on GameFAQS, but I'd like to put it here as well so it reaches the maximum audience:

I'll keep this short, but if you want some insight into the game's actual development, then head here: http://vimeo.com/59510793

I'm always on the lookout for revealing stuff about EM2, but this one really is a gem. Not only does it give a detailed description of how the game was animated and produced, but also allows us to discern more about the scrapped portions of the game. Listen to Prescott's dialogue at 2:49 in the video. Does he ever say that in the game? No.

It makes it sound like you were going to find out more about the whole 'TV show' thing and the World of Evil, but, as per the norm, it was truncated.

Thoughts?

As a faithful member of Gamespot, I feel it is my duty to assist those in need, particuarly those on this forum, who are often asking perfectly legitimate questions about Epic Mickey 2 - believe me, I was as confused as you were when I first got the game!

With this in mind, I have decided to, much like I did with EM1, produce a video walkthrough of EM2. In it, I will be covering everything required for the good 'ending' as well as locating most of the pins and having a bit of a rant about how the game was produced, 'tested' (in massive sarcasm quotes) and, ultimately, truncated. The first video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC2Enh3V7f0&list=PLc9URPMS0fNB0WHovKFLNyPkTHlPw6gvN&index=1

I've also attempted to inject a mild dose of humour into the playthrough to make the whole experience at least vaguely entertaining. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope that the walkthrough will cover most of the questions everybody poses to me, but, as always, do not hesitate to ask about the game here and we'll do our best to help you.

So I know that all of our suspicions all along about this game have pretty much been proven right. But I thought it might be nice to take a look at what might have been. So let's start with this: http://www.destructoid.com/ul/238026-review-epic-mickey-2-the-power-of-two/DBC_TV_4-620x.jpg

It's Dark Beauty Castle, sure. But note the sketch list in the upper left. Including the Fairy sketch. YOU CANNOT RETURN TO DARK BEAUTY CASTLE AFTER YOU COMPLETE IT. This was an early screenshot released, so evidently you were originally going to be able to revisit the castle. The people on Mean Street talking about it certainly hint at this too.

So anyway, thoughts anyone? And can you use your epic (ahem) location skills to dig up any more lost artifacts of what might have been?
