Hey there everyone!

Been awhile since I've posted here but I figured you all would be the best to ask about this. Recently, I made a big move from Texas to Georgia. In the process I shipped my entire collection in several large boxes. Most of these arrived safely, but one of them did not. As of today, it's been over 6 weeks since I shipped the boxes and I've completely given up on getting the box back.

Inside the box in question were around 45 games, as well as around 10 or so cases/manuals of games that I had removed from their case. Most of these were PS1 games and a fair number were pretty pricey and hard to get in good condition for less than $40-50.

So, while I've made huge strides in my collection over the past few years, this incident has completely knocked the wind out of my sails. With some financial help from my mother I've already replaced 11 of the most essential games that were lost, but it may take years to get the rest of these back.

Has anyone else dealt with something like this, on this scale or magnitude? If so, how'd you deal with it and get back on the horse? Do you all have any advice for me? Thanks.

I was wondering what the status was with the front page spotlights, perhaps it would be a good idea for the Game of the Month to maybe receive a little extra attention on the front page, kind of like what we used to do with Game Spotlights way back when.

Probably the main game I never buy but I always mean to is Mass Effect. Should be a no-brainer: an RPG with a good story and a unique battle system, cheap as balls at like $10, highly recommended to me by both the media and people I know alike. Yet, I never buy it. I see it all the time, and never buy it...and now the sequel is coming out. Pretty funny.

As far as games I should play...there's just way too many. Wild Arms, Suikoden II, Lufia, God of War II...the list goes on...

Well, I'm here, surprisingly. Might as well post!

The main game that has been dominating my life the past couple of months has been NBA 2K10. This game is unbelievably addicting and I can't believe I never played a sports game before it. There is just an absolute ton of content in the game, which never really gets old if you play it correctly.

The main mode which has been inhaling my life is "My Player" mode. In this mode, you create a basketballer from scratch, determining things like height, weight, appearance, and, most importantly, position and playstyle. You start out awful and any progress you make is, quite simply, pure skill on the player's part, as your in-game avatar, at least for the first 20 or so games you play in, is pretty much awful.

Your guy starts out in the NBA summer league, randomly assigned to a team. If you do well in that, you can be invited to an NBA training camp (if you do extremely well, you will get invitations from every team in the league). Choosing the training camp is important because it chooses which team you will end up on. If you do well in training camp, you make the team, and the game plays like a regular NBA season from then on.

Throughout, you only have control over your character. This is pretty frustrating at first because your character is pretty lousy stat-wise and in order to get passed to more often and therefore make more of an impact, you need to do well each and every time you get the ball. Once you prove yourself, you get passed to nearly constantly and can really make your mark in games.

My player is based on my all-time favorite player: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. As such he's a back-to-basket style Center who excels at shooting from the post. Since Kareem began his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, that's where I've ended up. Anyone who follows basketball knows that the Bucks are a pretty miserable team, consistently having a losing record. Since Kareem came to town, however, he began averaging 47 points per game as well as 15 rebounds, suddenly putting the Bucks ahead of the Cavaliers and Lakers in the Power Rankings and leading his team to a 28-4 record. Pretty ridiculous.

This file got corrupted though, so I recreated Kareem and am currently trying to rebuild...

Other than that, I've been playing Digital Devil Saga 2 (almost done, I think) and the Banjo-Kazooie games.

Most interesting thing to me about those console pics is the conspicuous lack of a top loading NES, I would think that would be a high priority for someone interested in variations on consoles like that guy seems to be.

I haven't even really touched a game in several days, but around a week and a half ago I finished the original Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance. It was pretty darn...traditional.
