MMO's don't prevent me from getting other things done but other games have taken a backseat. That should change shortly - I am getting an Xbox One for Christmas. Then I probably won't do anything else except Fallout IV. :)
The first video game character I really cared about was Bastilla Shan in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I was playing in the morning before work and something happened to that character right before I had to stop to go to work. All day, I felt like telling people "Don't you understand? Something happened to Bastilla Shan!"
I agree with David Cage. I don't want anyone else telling me what a game should be. I have been gaming since Pong, and my first computer games were text adventures. My definition of a game is completely different than someone who grew up with Playstations and Xboxes.
