Yes Microsoft will repair it for free. Just call Microsoft and they will send you a box overnight to your home, then you send it back in the box overnight (With no cost to you of course) and they fix it and send it back, all for free.

If you just bought your 360 Recently I am not sure if the new warranty applies to you, but it should.

If I were you id just slap down money and buy an Xbox 360, with more Xbox being backwards compatible it only a matter of time till the entire Xbox library is playable on Xbox 360

And besides its 2007! time to jump into High Def Gaming my friend!

If you have a Game that runs in 720p and you try to upscale it to 1080p, the picture will look bloated and distorted (Kind like its stretched) Cause a game running 720p is running 720 progressive (AKA Full Screen progressive) and 1080 is Widescreen so the pair just do not mix.

Unless the game supports both resolutions, then you wont have a problem

Some of you might be surprised by this, but I used vista for a while on a Moderately High System build, and Vista actually ran very well. It did not crash at all and I ran oblivion with a Higher FPS then I could on XP. Im sure some of you know that someday us PC gamers are gonna have to fess up to the fact and get Vista someway (:D) But I can say that without a DirectX10 Video Card, Vista just isnt worth it. But If you got a D10 Card Id go vista all the way.

But being most gamer dont like change and spending alot of money ($200 US for Vista Ultimate, lol @ MS) I suggest waiting till we need to change or frankly just wait till we can afford it.

Did you know that Microsoft Recently spent 1Billion Dollars to extend warranties on all xbox 360's? So I wouldnt worry about the failures, cause Microsoft actually cares about their customers and they are making an effort to fix the problem (Unlike some other companies *Cough* Sony)

Trust me its worth the money, ive had mine since launch and it has not broken yet.

Reall depends on your tastes, for instance ive been playing Consoles for years and i recently got into PC gaming about 5 years ago, PC have a different experience for some games that consoles just cant imitate. And for me it brings me joy to buy new parts for my PC and put them in and see them working. While sometimes i just like to pick up and controller and start playing. So i guess it just depends.
