@RetroGaming1990 @SloganYams @Drilbit777 This comment just proves how uneducated you are. Bowser has never kidnapped Peach in the Mario&Luigi series. Not even once.

You clearly have no clue about what you're talking about so, please, don't embarass yourself.

@SloganYams If you asked me a year ago which M&L game was my favorite I would also have told you BIS was the best. However, I've been revisiting some games recently and playing through SSS made me realize how many things I missed about it in BIS. They're both strong contenders and I will probably never decide which I definetely prefer, but nowadays I'm inclined to say I like SSS just a tiny bit more.

I agree, its hard to rank the Mario RPG series. In my opinion, they're as strong as the platformers, which speaks a lot about how good spinoffs can be.

My favourites are SSS, BIS, Paper Mario (64) and Legend of the Seven Stars. TTYD is also a strong contender. Then comes PiT and SPM. Unfortunately I couldn't play Sticker Star for longs amounts of time yet (I still have to buy it, and that could take a while...) but I hope its also good, although I know I shouldn't expect much of it.

@REVOLUTIONfreak If you don't need it, you don't have to buy it. Its that simple.

They are different kinds of games that appeal to different demographics using the same title character. You just have to buy the ones you're interested in. I'm not fond of Mario's sports games and I don't buy them because of that, but I don't mind if Nintendo continues to make them because I know for a fact that there are a lot of people that do enjoy them.

@SloganYams I actually prefer SuperStar Saga to Mario RPG. The world is bigger, the combat is more fun and the dialogue and story are more charming as well, but to each their own. Legend of the Seven Stars still ranks as one of the best too.

Super Paper Mario wasn't bad per se, but it was vastly inferior to the first 2 titles in the Paper Mario series, hence why it started the downfall of the franchise. The story was very good, but the gameplay was lackluster(the platforming was pretty weak and the rpg aspects were also harmed by it. It tried to be two things at the same time and failed at both, something that hurt the title a lot) and the pacing of the game could have been a lot better. Its still good, just not as good as I hoped it would be based on previous titles.

Great, it's been a very long time since the last one. I hope this one is as good as the previous 3 or better. Even though I also like Mario's other RPG series (Paper Mario), that one took a turn for the worse starting with Super, while Mario&Luigi games have been consistently good quality titles, and I hope it stays that way.

@alenth Care to explain how Mario&Luigi games are "dumbed down" or are you just another one of those people that like to complain about stuff they pretend to know about?

@Bread_or_Decide Oh look... Another predictable complaint.

Because a relatively minor RPG series seeing a new release FOUR years after its last game is completely predictable. Hell, EVERYBODY was expecting it to come out even after Paper Mario already filled the "portable rpg" quota!

Come on.

@FAIL_TR0LL @jcnba28 So what if it's the fourth Mario & Luigi game? Have you even played the first three? Not only are they great rpgs, but they are also remarkably different from one another. Thats not even mentioning the fact they come out very, very rarely.

You people complaining about sequels all the f-in time are so tiresome.

@lex_in_the_moon Yes, 8.5 is a great score, I agree with that, and I generally dislike how game reviewers in general are so lenient with their scores, giving high marks like candy.

But what seems to bother most nintendo fans from what I can see is the general reluctance gamespot has with giving a 9 score to a 3DS game(or, recently, any nintendo game for that matter. Its gamespot's attitude in general). The Vita already has 2, one of them being a port(a great one at that, don't get me wrong, but so was OoT 3D) while the 3DS gets stuck with 8.5's and 8.0's.

It doesn't really bother me because I play games that interest me regardless of scores, but I can see why some people could be a little upset.
