I bought both a PS4 and an XBox One. I'm not 100% happy with both, but the problems are different. More correctable with PS4, the only problem there being a lack of available games that I have an actual interest in. I bought the XBox One first because I was sold on Titanfall (mistake), so there's not a lot for me to pick up on the PS4 that I don't already have. They needed a better exclusive lineup from launch 'til now. The XBox One is glitch riddled, though. Some of the apps crash the console, and the Kinect doesn't work correctly. The features are unusable. If I had an application for it as its marketed "entertainment console", that would be one thing, but I'm really just a gamer. They could've done better than they did. That's not even going into the spec discrepancies between the systems that makes PS4 a more attractive buy for the core gamer market.
@DeViLzzz @mkdms14 Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither. We should be largely left alone to do as we please, beholden to natural laws and social mores and taboos of course, but never strictly regulated.
@DeViLzzz @LegendInMyMind That seems severe. Without organized effort and competition, we likely would not thrive as a species (assuming that we're "thriving" now). Look at cultural discrepancies in this nation alone. The interests of the South East and those of the North East haven't always been exactly...similar, and we're beholden to the same laws.
An entire world controlled by one organized sect seems pretty sketchy. I don't believe in Utopian societies. I don't believe in peace. I think that they are false ideals that ignore the basic laws of nature. What I do believe in is using logic and reasoning to solve problems, not politicking.
Even IF there was some logical basis to support their claims that video game violence has caused an increase in societal violence, when the hell has any law they've passed in the last 50 years either had an effect or produced the intended effect? Stop passing laws, idiots. Do a better job with things like education and the economy and stop with the scapegoating.
