Not everything needs to be a 60 hours epic, developers need to do a few more bite sized games. This weekend I was able to finish 3 games (Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Skylar and Plux and Stories: Path of Destinies), after having spent more than two weeks with Dragon Quest XI.
What I mean is both games have an audience and developers shouldn't focus only on RDR2 like games.
Dragon Quest XI could have been half the size easily since they just sent you around all the exact same places for the second half of the game, shameless padding that didn't need to happen. It turned a great game into a bit of a chore by the end of it for me.
I disagree. I loved DQXI all the way through, revisiting areas is part of the reason. It allowed you to see how characters have changed since you started your adventure, it made it feel more real. I agree that post game got a bit repetitive, for "spoiler" reason. But, it's post-game for a reason.
Who the hell would replay a game because it gets cheats? Like wtf..
I almost got the game back when it was new, but decided it was probably not worth it. I still might get it and play it when it's like 5 bucks or something.
It's worth it, if you like survival horror games, it's fantastic. Really enjoyed it, a lot more than the 1st one. I think the game is underrated, and much better than any recent Resi game for example.
Easy to take so many hours of hard work and call it garbage, I prefer to focus on what worked and not on what didn't.
In the future I wouldn't start with a rant like that. Takes focus away from your real complaints.

He's right though. They force them in to their games (unrealistically) to try and get the community backing them as the "nice guys". It's so fake it's cringe.
Probably Dragon Quest XI overall, it's just that good and it's a closer representation of what you can expect from some of the best games in the genre.
My friend from University is a graphics designer for this game. This game is looking and sounding very promising, and development is going very well :)
