Anyway I don't think Nintendo will ever regain the average gamer if they don't get into more serious IP's. Splatoon is yet another "kiddy" franchise. Where are the god of wars, last of us, uncharteds, gears of wars, forzas, ...

i mean switch has a lot of mature games but they are 3rd party. sure they are ports. but they are mature and quite a few of them. this hasnt made switch completely dominate the ps and xbox.

... remember eternal darkness on the gamecube? it didnt help. i mean nintendo would have to change personalities in order to produce mature games along with the classics. theyd have to hire a new studio? or make a new one? idk... for some reason nintendo hasnt done it.

as for the wii casual pot of gold. i dont think that will ever happen again. sony failed with VR and that had huge push. labo failed. gimmicks in gerneral are now seen as old hat and passe by most people. everyone is being super beware of gimmicks ever since the wii/kinect/move. thats why VR didnt take off like motion controls imo. if wii never existed and sony released VR i think it would have been huge. but i'll never know.

If Nintendo would also focus on mature IP's they would go in direct competition with Sony and MS, they sort of tried that with gamecube but failed miserably.

Got to give Nintendo huge credit for bouncing back with the switch. I must admit I didn't see it they have addressed the 3rd party problems last gen and continued to product great 1st party content. With smash on the way it'll certainly shift of few more during the holiday season.

Sure but again, not just more games but what really matters is what kind of games. They need "mature" IP's if they want to convince the average fifa/cod brogamer who only plays on PS/Xbox... sadly for Nintendo that's the majority.

@knight-k: lol. As a Switch and Ps4 I can safely say Rdr2 is NOT the best game this gen. It’s kinda a let down. Slow and very sluggish on my ps4. I might try it again on pc later on but for now I’m selling my copy cuz the ps4 just can’t handle this kinda game. Do those sales numbers count digital sales btw?
