not the point of the thread. the point is that there is potential for 3rd party sales on wii, huge potential.

i dont think that people are really saying that wii third party games are selling bad, theyre more or less saying that third party wii games, almost by a rule with a few third party games being good...most of htem are complete crap, thats what people are saying, not that games dont sell, the "games dont sell" argument is used towards sony fans, not nintendo fanslinkin_guy109

there is a common argument that goes something like "LOL THIRD PARTY TITLEZ DONT SELLZ ON WII, THEY WILL BE STUCK WITH KIDDY MARIO FOREVER LMAO, NO THIRD PARTY WILL DEVLOP FOR TEH WII CUZ THEYRE GAMEZ DONT SELL!!!!!!!!" well, now we know, if a third party dev makes an effort and put in some advertisement dollars, their games will sell.

Red Steel, Sonic & the secret rings, rayman raving rabbids, resident evil umbrella chronicles, re4 wii, guitar hero 3 and carneval games have all sold over a million units. thats more than the total million sellers for ps3.

red steel, crap game, still sold over 1 million.

umbrella chronicles, 1st person lightgun game, sold over 1 million.

re4 wii, a 2 year old game that exists on 3 other platforms sold over 1 million and will likely surpass both gc and ps2 version total sales.

no more heroes is on track to sell at least 400 000 units when all is said and done, a niche hardcore game without advertising. bear in mind that killer 7, suda51s last game sold less than 20000 units on ps2 and gc COMBINED.

zack and wiki. great game with no advertising, a lame name, boxart and not a very mainstream presentation has sold over 300 000.

fire emblem: radiant dawn, a niche rpg has sold 500 000 on wii, better than any fire emblem game since the snes era. it hasnt even launched in europe yet.

if all this doesnt tell you about the potential for third party success on wii, then i dont know what is. some of these games dont deserve the sales they get, hardcore or not. so if something great and well advertised comes along, imagine the sales.

really, the year is starting out great, no more heroes was phenomenal... phenomenal.

smash is a blast as always and dmc 4 is great. i wonder how these games will hold up in the end of the year though, against megatons like mgs 4, ninja gaiden 2, etc.

I wonder how long the wii is going to sell. march is going to be owned by wii completely, since north america is going to have priority because of the smash launch and therefore get most of the wii supplies. mario kart in in late april and wiifit during summer. will any console this generation catch wii?

they might start outselling it in a year or two, but by then the gap will be too large to close. keep in mind that the wii hasnt dropped in price even ONCE yet.
