@saltbalsak I personally felt that RE is not scary after you finish RE1 and know the full story. Sure, when I played the game I was 9 and I was creeped out, but then you realize after playing the first time "huh, these monsters are just experiments huh? Prepare for your death bitches!". Even Code Veronica is not scary anymore to me after looking at Wesker kicking Chris's ass in the ending, Alexia and her crossdressing brother. Like these guys can kick so much ass, why can't I do it too? I found the old controls annoying for giving you limited ways to attack, which thankfully RE6 fix tremendously, but that's what I think. By the time of Resident Evil 6, it is expected that Leon kills a whole lot of them than all past RE combined. He's a badass now, along with the other guys Sherry and Chris. Of course they'll be more experienced.
You know what other game that's considered survival horror? Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on Lone Wolf. Try it, it's intense, you only got 1 life and you have to eliminate 30 enemies or less alone with no health. I got a heart attack because enemies comes out of nowhere and kills me, like Fatal Frame, except it's reality.
@DarthLod This is the only time in Capcom's life that they actually did something right, which surprises me considering how much money-milking they did with their costumes dlcs, ending dlcs, day 1 dlcs and so on. Don't mock RE6 because it's one of their games that doesn't deserve it. Mock Operation Racoon City instead, that game is garbage.
@DarthLod If you played the game already, those things are not that much of an issue Bad camera is not a problem of mine because it's ok. Capcom actually makes an exception with this game and go all out, so to call this particular game sub-par and rushed is not true at all and is an insult to the 4 different teams that made such a long campaign for each characters. Even with the problems like QTE's and controls, doesn't RE4 and 5 have plenty of QTEs and clunky controls? Why complain about it now instead of before?
But honestly, in comparison with other linear action games that's going to come out this month, like what I mention Warfighter and Black Ops 2 which are just the same old fps, Resident Evil 6 is actually the best of these 3. Giving RE6 a 4.5 because it's different and not like the old games is an insult. It should at least got a 6 or a 7.
Me enjoy Capcom milking a franchise? Have you seen Street Fighter and their abundance of Re-releases that's even worse because it's like 100 of them? And Activision milking the hell out of their COD games?
@saltbalsak I think this game is still considered a Resident Evil game because of the theme that it represents: bio organic terrorists using monsters they created to take over the world lead by Umbrella, or some secret organisation. But to say that it's not a horror game anymore is just wrong. There's still scares in the game that I am surprisingly terrified with. If you think RE is just good for a survival horror atmosphere, then you are pretty much wrong. Just look at the first RE. It starts as a normal zombie-horror game, then by the end of the plot it's all clear that the game is basically a battle ground experiment for combat testing by the true villain. By that point, it's clear that Resident Evil is actually a flexible genre by itself, it's not bound by the gaming mechanics to be just survival horror. If the old Resident Evil is played with the control scheme used in Resident Evil 4, would that be considered an action game or survival horror? Compared to Fatal Frame, which consists of hunting ghost with a camera, Resident Evil is a deep franchise that can be shaped into different genres. It all works well enough, until Operation Raccoon City that fucks it all up.
I am 1000% certain that Resident Evil 6 is a lot better and longer than Black Ops 2 + Warfighter combined. Why the hell should people waste their money on these 2 generic fps garbage anyway? And the RE6 review itself is filled with lies from a Resident Evil fanboy that thinks RE6 is filled with action so it's not good because of it. Um, hello? RE 2, 3, Code Veronica, Dead Aim, 4 and 5 is good even though its more action than the first one, why complain about it in RE6? Too late much? Just look at the playthrough and decide for yourself if it's good or not, not from a review.
And this is the Warfighter playthrough so you people don't buy that game. You can see it's actually shorter in total than Resident Evil 6 by a long mile and looks generic enough. And of course there's a bullshit download HD content before actually starting the game.

Or just buy the new game for the 3DS Zero Escape: Virture's Last Reward. I bet that game will be game of the year, unless game sites don't allow a portable game to be that popular.
