As some have said before "Brink is a game with so much potential that It didn't know what to do with it". A weak story is tolerable with a good multi-player experience behind it, but when your multi-player experience doesn't have enough depth to sustain itself long after the launch there is a problem. Its multi-player is so close to being great but just fails to capitalize. No choice but to chalk this one up with bulletstorm and homefront for games with a ton of potential that just miss the mark.

Very well written article. I never turn off the music on a console but as the article you mentioned at the beginning states, I often turn off music when in a public setting rather than getting headphones out of courtesy ad convenience. An interesting piece which you did not mention that I always had quite an emotional connection too was the rival theme from Pokemon gold and silver. It too me was always one of them more heart racing songs and really made you feel like your battle mattered. The only point I disagree with is the Fallout 3 soundtrack. While it often felt overwhelming it to me really gave the game more character. Moving around in a frozen 50s/60s society has more meaning when the songs played on the radio reflect the time and the music served for me a great backdrop on long trips across the barren waste.
