@mrbojangles25:This guy isn't going to make or break the film. It's going to be awful all by itself. The way the CGI and live characters and scenery are integrated is just really bad, and almost something out of 2006.

Also, having to be familiar with the source material to get a part is one of the most ridiculous concepts I've read here. If that were a prerequisite, then a great many movies that you enjoy would have most likely ended up with far worse actors. Hell, just look at the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie. It has someone who's not familiar with the games, yet no one can argue that he's not an A list actor. Too bad the movie itself is probably only going to be just slightly above the trash-heap WoW movie. Yep, it's called "Warcraft", but you better believe it's banking on the WoW crowd to make the money back.

Or better yet, just look at the original Star Wars trilogy. No one was familiar with that material, and even Alec Guiness thought it was a joke, and the only reason he accepted the role as Obi-Wan was for a large share of the profits. Which made him rich.

Any way you slice it, this movie looks terrible. They should have made it entirely CGI or spent enough money to make convincing orcs with prosthetics. This in-between garbage looks exactly like what it is.

@grim0187: There aren't enough good games yet even in this gen to warrant both consoles. There's barely enough on either to warrant any of them.

@Evil_Sidekick:I'm pretty sure that's not the reason. "Most powerful yet" means absolutely nothing regarding Nintendo compared to everyone else, since they've been way behind the curve since 2006.

It's amazing how long it takes the mainstream sites to get this kind of information. It was all but confirmed almost two months ago on NeoGAF that the upgrade to the PS4 would play all PS4 games. The only thing that was uncertain was whether or not the older games would be able to take advantage of the newer hardware. The answer is "through a developer patch".

@Jeff_Dranetz: Where did you read about Konami supposedly buying, and finishing Simon's Quest, or is this just random speculation? Not that I particularly thought that it was any good, but it just doesn't make any sense. Especially when you look at their output starting with the third game onward.

I guess if you're out of the loop, this could be considered "news", but it was all but confirmed that the game wouldn't be out before 2017 a few months ago.

Regardless, I hope they don't take the DA:Inquisition approach with this game too (*cough* generic Ubisoft game *cough*).

@gamersts: Have we been playing the same games? Both Uncharted 2 and 3 were more focused on the story and movie like set pieces, with pretty trashy action gameplay with auto platforming. These games have always been about spectacle over substance, so not much has changed.

@RogerioFM: Horizon looks like it could potentially be better than anything else that's been name dropped here so far.

@alien33:You must not have been following gaming journalism since...ever then if you expected this to not get a 10. Well established franchise + mega popular company + great graphics (regardless of the actual gameplay) = minimum of a 9, typically a 10 from sites like IGN and Gamespot. Always.

@BeefoTheBold: Yet, some of those "minor" flaws of The Witcher 3 was that the combat was complete ass, and the gear was garbage aside from The Witcher set items. TW3 was a solid 7/10 game with phenomenal graphics and a decent story. Gameplay wise it was thoroughly mediocre.
