Well, I didn't need to import Tales of Eternia but I imported Tales of the World from America thinking it'd be far off or never getting a release here... came out about two months later and I didn't actually start it until then as I was playing Tales of the Abyss. Still, it actually cost me less to import.
I've imported Tales of Phantasia, have Tales of Rebirth coming in the mail and will eventually get Tales of Destiny 2, not that I can understand any of these though. I thought they'd have upgraded the Phantasia battle system but it's still as crap as ever, may as well have just bought the GBA version in english.
Basically, the game runs each screen twice, hence the 120 hz screen requirement, and the glasses in sync block one eyes vision and alternates creating depth perception. They are working with a lot of games that are currently out as depth is created by different rendering layers, but as no one was making games with these in mind some things could be out of order. Gamespot explained it all.
Besides, no one watches me while I'm playing my pc so what I look like isn't an issue, the cost for something that probably won't get a lot of support is the issue.
