You can get a new one?! I was told that mine would only be repaired... It'd be quicker and easier for them to throw out the damaged one and send you a new one.
I always judge them by appearance and that monkey looks pretty damn cool, especially its later forms. It's true lately they've had some pretty crappy looking ones, but there's some real good ones to counter them. But throughout all games the Fire type starter has always been the only good starter... well Totodile was actually pretty good.
I thought I'd had enough of it when Ruby/Sapphire came around, but I ended up grabbing Ruby and still enjoyed it. I wont say I'm hyped, or as interested as I was 5 or 6 years ago but I'm looking forward to it. They've found a formula that works time and time again.
I actually have a white DS, I was going for "opposing colours" as I have a black PSP which is much easier to keep clean... but at least with the DS it's just the outer case that gets the prints and smudges so I'm not as concerned.
The black only makes the prints and smudges more visible, if you know the smudges are there you can clean them off, seems like an advantage if you ask me.
