Lot of negative comments. If this game has low player population I will definitely enjoy at it (less trolls, griefers, BMers...) more true fans of the game.
I play F2P games for quite some time. I think Allods Online was the one that I played longest yet when I came to higher lvls I realized it was not worth it. Game turns into mindless grind or you can buy those runes component for real money. An obvious "pay to win" (P2W) model in disguise of F2P and it was my first F2P experience. But I didn't judge harshly based on that first experience. I tried few others until I tried LoL. It is quite honest way of handling monetization and know players having unlocked more than half heroes yet spending no money. I didn't spent either. And I feel sad about it because I think it is good game and developers deserve support. Now I play Smite. I really like Smite and I decided to support developers and buy some gems. I realized the deal "God Pack" is too good (I will always have all gods unlocked with it) and I purchased "God Pack". I really didn't felt the need to spent more money on the game. I am not interested in skins, nor voice packs.
If I see F2P game I will try it for sure and if that game brings me fun, it is enjoyable then I will spend money to support developers. If the game is made too grindy or try in any way mess with my willpower as Cam explained, I will simply stop playing that game. Such was the fate of Allods and many others I tried.
@Grimkillah Look on YouTube and pass the tutorial in game(but it won't be enough). For a beginner, I would recommend Portugal, Spain or Moscovy. Let me tell you this: it is hard and everything has consequences (usually they are not obvious).
@cws3e @RossRichard @19James89 it is - I played many games for quite long that are f2p. It is a shame that people haven't heard a lot for other f2p titles but rather few.
