Nostalgia can be a b**** sometimes. I'm sure like the remaster of Duck Tales, Duke Nukem Forever would have been liked by gamers if it came out 10 years earlier but it can't hold a candle to modern FPSs. Same with Duck Tales, subsequent platformers already evolved and surpassed it, it's a game worth playing for nostalgia alone if anything.

The fact that people play Smash Bros religiously to this day (Melee and Brawl) is proof enough that some serious dedication is poured into each new entry.
