Played it round a friend's house for a few hours. Didn't like it. Didn't impress me. Seemed like a work of glamour without simple solid foundations that had made the RE series great. Net result = first RE game in the main series ever that I didn't buy and don't plan to either. It's just a shooter now, and not one as good as 4 was either.

I would have thought investing a lot of time in XIII-2 only to discover no one was willing to buy the game after XIII would have resulted in a massive loss myself. XIII was exceptionally pretty, but wholely lack luster, and after their previous three incarnations (which have similar looking world characters so they don't feel any different to one another) I should imagine the fan base just aren't as willing to trust them as they used to be. The FF series needs a serious overhaul, the character designers replaced and a concentration on what made the games become so popular with VII upwards, which is when they truly boomed.

So basically the person that needs to vent the anger of their day or the person possessing OCD with a low sense of life achievement. That's not an insult, just actual psychological observation about gamers such as I.

@Suikogaiden As for the blanket statement, it was more a dig at the religious groups who tend to attack gaming content, of which there have been an awful many. This generally goes hand in hand with those types who stand on street corners holding up signs like "God hates fags". There's a certain irony to it that leaves a bitter taste.

@Suikogaiden And you just made an accusation without knowing much about me. I am religious and I studied a lot of numerous paths before deciding upon my own. I do very much believe in spiritual attunement, understanding and expansion of one's consciousness. I also entirely believe that faith and belief are personal, that the sharing within a religion is a means of expanding energy and that there is more than one religion while we only concentrate upon the larger ones when using the term (which annoys me greatly when coping with militant atheists). However, there is dogma, there is human misinterpretation and there is using religion as a means to cause atrocities also, and these have caused vast amounts of violence, moreso that gaming ever have, over the centuries. At the end of the day, it comes down to simple human beings and how warped their little minds are (again, could go on in detail about sociopathic behaviour including mob mentalities, rapturous nodes, endorphine release etc etc...you get the picture). So please, do not call me ignorant, it is rather a silly thing to say and I don't believe for one moment that you are a silly person.

@jamesbigmac Quite agree. I've studied numerous religions in detail and believe that they are simply good life guides to prevents people being buttholes to one another and to ensure continued survival of the particular tribe. It is human beings that warp that into something entirely different, thus changing the nature of the religion or enforcing dogma which is both anti social and at times, immoral.

@gamefreak215jd @Andrak_Vol As pointed out in the follow up comment I made which a lot of people ignored, if you're a f*cked up screwball it could take Tom and Jerry to inspire you to violence. I am actually religious myself, but it irks me that when people march to war for God, or the attrocities carried out by human beings in the same of some supreme being then use the same excuse to condemn gaming (and it has been a lot of religious groups who have done so over the years on top of the media). I could go on all day about the numerous implications and point out that not for one moment do I think scripture demands violence (I whole heartedly believe the Bible is a good life guide for example) but it is instead dogmatic rule of human interpretation that makes some devout people do very wrong things believing they are justified in doing so. It is not the source that causes violence, but the human being and how they act upon it.

In addtion, I've been playing video games since 1984. I've had one fight in my lifetime. Just one. I don't go looking for fights, and in fact I look down on people who throw their fists first rather than their logic. It's all horses for courses. If you're a f*cked up screwball it could take Tom and Jerry to inspire you to violence!

Think religion is far more responsible for violence and murder than video games. Sadly I don't see the alleged "Keepers of the Moral Compass" under scrutiny.

The campaign takes 6-7 hours if that. I was actually surprised by how quickly it was over. It looks amazingly pretty, but that campaign is extremely short in the modern market. I'm actually genuinely disappointed in it as a result and just hope I can get my money's worth out of the multiplayer instead.
