There is a social cost to the console wars, the people who in their sweatshops making these products, increasing competition could drive their wages down, and if they seek higher wages, the factory could always move onto the next cheap country. However I doubt that a failure of one console system will improve their situation either.
Actually we humans are been "remote controlled" for some times now. Every book we read, every music we danced to, and every film we saw conveys a message that is not our own, but created with the aim to change us, or even modified our behaviors, just think about Das Kapital/Mein Kampf or the Bible/Qur'an. Some call it propaganda, while other call it learning, but the point is to change us for a reason. If that is not considered as been controlled, then what is?
@normanislost Yea BAO does feel like a placeholder for Rocksteady, but still a very good placeholder. However I do wonder what kind of new improvement can still be made on the Batman Arkham series. Enlarge the map to include the rest of Gotham, Metropolis or even Star City. But game mechanic wise, I can't think of any, just some new enemy types, or weapons. The pressure is on for Rocksteady now.
Why do new games always need improvements, why can't it just be the same game mechanism with a different story? BAO should be a 8 even if nothing new is added. But a 7.5 since MP is forced upon, once again. And GameSpot really need multiple reviews for each game, one reviewer may not be into a game than say another. As a Fan I say BAO is a very good game, 7.5
