Microsoft will know how I feel when they don't get my money. As if I'm just gonna believe what they say when they sound so stupid every time they talk.
it's one thing to give your details to a company by choice, quite a different thing for that company to remove that choice from you and share YOUR personal information with another company. at what point in your life do you decide to give up any ethics you might have had at one time and go to work for microsoft
You have to agree to this policy to even go to your account, so you are blocked from limiting invasion before you even try and defend yourself.
Them sharing contact info is bullshxt. I've tried to stay off the radar for a few years. I set an Xbox Live account up for my cousin(16 girl) and then they're address got some kind of mail in my name. That's scumbag business tactics. Her did is a well off doctor and doesn't appreaciate me all that much, so to say the least it caused some issues with the family. FXCK MICROSOFT! -Coming from a guy with both an Xbox360, a Windows 8 PC, and a Playsation 3.
If you dont give your details to Microsoft you end up giving to someone else as mobile companyºs or loyalty store cards. M i the only person who is utterly exited about the Steam console? If steam decides not to charge for playing online, it wont be xbone it will be xgone! Next gen is all about "to be spied or not to be spied that is the real question you have to ask yourself prior to the purchase"
See microsoft ill just say it how it is your full of shit we know it and you know we know it the only thing we will help with is digging that hole for you to rest in :)
Microsoft is one of the greatest tools of any agency who needs to spy on people wherever they may be from. We all have secrets to hide. If you say you don't have any, you're probably still a fetus.
How many here had no idea what the NSA was until they started drinking the Kool-Aid that the media has been providing? Ignorance spreads like wildfire and the only "ignorant" people commenting here are the ones that think that their privacy is safe to begin with. The government is tapping your texts, phone calls, Internet history, purchases you make with your credit card, and don't think for a minute that just because Sony hasn't said that they're doing these things; that they aren't. Face facts people, if you're tied into a server in any way whatsoever; anybody with the authority to look into your personal life is already doing it.
I love how everyone here is poking jabs about fanboyism. PC elitists are fanboys, Xbox gamers are fanboys, Playstation gamers are fanboys. Seriously, everybody here is a hypocrite.
If you wanna be like Tiger Woods… Fertilizing ladies in the neighborhood…Get real rich and you will find... All the hot chicks will want to grind.
PS- MS has done everything in their power to push gamers away from buying an Xbox720p. They've basically been doing free PS4 commercials for Sony ever since E3.
But didn't Brittany actually have a bit of a breakdown? And shag her body guard?
So what the dev is hinting at is that MS isn't quite sure what they're doing with their system, but meanwhile they're busy getting a few games developers in bed? EA, you under them sheets?
Bit by bit, Microsoft will re-implement their original Draconian-Orwellian, anti-gamer DRM and spycam policies and "features." The proof is in all of their recent actions and statements.
Just some food for thought, people, this company originally required the Kinect 2 to be plugged in, on, and facing the user at all times for the xbone to even function.
Are you really going to trust anything these people say for a COD clone with robots thrown in?
Not convinced. Microsoft doesn't deserve my wallet vote, nor any of yours.
Not even close to fair enough!
Microsoft want your details, not your hate should read as 'Microsoft want you as a bankable product, not your whining and privacy!" consider that M$ announced that they will have 300,000 servers from day 1 for you. You do not set out close to a billion euro in servers for gaming. (a growth of 2000%). It is bad business, unless there is additional business! there are too many spins going on and M$ currently has a bad reputation when it comes to reliability!
Is that a real tattoooo?? How long has Jess had that? It's a big one, that's for sure.
Let's be honest, all the data these companies collect on us probably isn't nefarious in-and-of-itself, but having so much of it out there increases our chance of having our IDs cloned, not to mention all the nuisance sales calls.
That my friends is why Xbox have tons of pre orders left and PS4 have been sold out for almost 2 months now. They respect your privacy so much that they want it? Smh.
I said what I had to say about Microsoft and Xbox One already. The Xbox One is a system I just dont want in my house. Even if its not giving information to the Nsa or whatever, I dont want my info going to their 'partners' either. Just because Netflx is on my console doesnt give them the right to take info and spread it to other companies because that wasnt what the original intent is. And this sort of thing shouldnt be told to consumers through microscopic text or eula crap. Its shady stuff. They still dont get it they are antigamer and now theyre antiliving room. strange for them to be marketing this console this way given its supposed to be marketed as an entertainment console for the living room....
I try to stay as off the radar as possible with companies like MS and Sony. I always pay for their services with cards bought from other places.
@FreddieBootleg how the hell did they get your name? why would you be using it if it's her xbox/account? I've no idea what signing up for that is like never owned one.
@barrica You can limit your exposure.
You are allowed to do that.
While I know my info gets out and gets around I do try and reduce how much. It's a wise decision for everyone, and it's a little naive of you to not practice the same belief. It may come back to haunt you when you're older.
@Adenosine I probably DON'T have any secrets to hide, that being said I agree with you.
I may not have any secrets, but I still would like my privacy.
Microsoft said "our concept of 'privacy' and 'ownership' will have to change", I disagree.
@Adenosine trivial shit we probably shouldn't be so easily embarassed about that aren't really worth guarding. number 1 concern of people wary of big brother: more annoying spam/advertisements.
You don't have to worry about privacy if you keep things to yourself or you have nothing shady to hide. ;)
Also, you have a big tin-foil hat - NSA fiasco or no.
Someone's a cynic. ;)
@kutulu1 Everything you do is monitored by some government intelligence agency, considering there are like 45 of them. Read a book for once before going all fan boy on posts. News flash, you buy a PS4, you will be watched. Buy a Wii U, you will be watched and monitored. Every phone call and text you make/send is stashed in a government intelligence agency archive somewhere.
@kutulu1 Like every other corporation in the US? They really don't have a choice if the NSA asks for it, as if they refuse it will be considered treason.
@jecomans Brittney was a trainwreck...JUST LIKE MICROSOFT.

@iamreesebey That my friends is thinking that just because MS says they will, doesn't mean that Sony won't and if you think that they won't you are sorely mistaken and just naive.
@iamreesebey Or at least do a better job of keeping it quiet. :-P
@IanNottinghamX If you have Netflix and are a user they already have your information... I don't get what the problem is.
@IanNottinghamX No one hates on Facebook or Twitter. They sell everything about you to everyone willing to buy. People need to realize that this happens EVERY day in EVERYTHING that you do online.
@Fate_00 what do you mean "tigers" finally realized? Its EA thats dropped him sooooooo if anything THEY'VE realized how S*&% he is
Same here. Trust me, you become real sketchy with your plastic if you've ever had your bank account compromised. It's not the easiest problem to fix.
@Gelugon_baat can we stop with the tin foil hat comments please. The man's not speaking beyond reason.
I'm not speaking conspiracy theories, it just bothers me that people are naive enough to think that this isn't already happening. Facebook and Twitter are the two worst culprits, but millions of people use them every day and could care less.
Oh and it's not tinfoil, it's a stainless steel spaghetti strainer ;)
@TitaniumBalls Is that your ass backwards way of sticking up for your beloved product?
Paranoia often doesn't go well together with reason. ;)
@xDARKGUITARISTx Not many "ignorant" people here, most seem like me. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm at as much risk as you say. I just don't care because I only pay for things online when absolutely necessary(not a single indentity/finance related problem in 15 years) and the rest of my secrets is just typical BS that most of us ordinary individuals here don't want others to know. I'll be right there bitching at MS with the rest of you if there's a tiny chance they'd nix some of the shitty directions they're going but to be honest if they don't I'd still buy an Xbone if it were worth it as far as actual gaming is concerned. Like that other guy said, not much of a reason to look down on someone.
Not at all and I don't find myself to be that kind of person either. I appreciate your thoughtful input rather than the alternative single minded responses usually seen on these comment boards.
So what if other people remain in denial? Let them - and let them learn the hard way.
Also, I will tell you that I wouldn't consider that having the knowledge or wisdom to know that governments can snoop on me makes me a superior person, if you happen to be thinking that.
