I worked at Gamestop before they went full blown cop-out. And during those years beforehand, it was a genuinely good place to work for. Even now, annual pay raises are no more than a quarter (25 cents) on top of hourly every year based on reviews, with no commissions, no incentives, very little benefits. The 15% discount (2013: $60 = $51 after discount, before tax) was more substantial back then when getting deals on games involved waiting many months, not weeks, for them to drop in price. Now, you can wait a couple of months and get new releases for good prices if you're patient enough. And the drive for pre-orders and subscriptions each week prompts associates to be aggressive if they truly want hours to work.

Overall, the only worth a place like Gamestop fulfills to employment is when someone can become a supervisor or a manager, and even then, it's still stressful. If someone wants this for a second job to have some extra cash and a decent discount (you can get markdowns on accessories and games and pre-owned systems, but not new systems), then all the power to you.

@Fia1 It's due for sometime next year. That and Project Eternity are both looked forward to on my end from a private developer perspective. Along with Witcher 3, of course.

Usually, fixed budgets ensure a fixed list of content. However, a budget that increases means that they have the means to recruit more manpower and expand the game out, but they will aim for a deadline as much as they can.

At the rate they are going, they made over an extra three million dollars over the past three weeks. And the holidays are around the corner, too. What do you wanna bet those who get some holiday cash to spend decide to invest into this?

@Heshertonfist The game's going to do a ton of stuff:

1) It's an HD Space Sim, so it's going to be a big title with a lot of processes

2) It's going to look good and push PCs as far as they can go, acting the part of a benchmark title

3) With a fixed budget, a development team can usually focus on a laundry list of things they can accomplish with that figure; with a budget that is increasing and has yet to see an end, those extra funds open up development of additional ideas and projects to expand on the original title (especially since that kind of money will usually go toward funding development costs, manpower, so on)

4) Why NOT give them so much money if they are giving us a title that is just going to have more and more added to it as they can afford it?

Update: Looks like Amazon ran out of PS3 copies and a third party's providing the game at their own price. =(

@Hells_rebelion @Grandstream I stated specifics cause I got a few Bundles in the past and they typically gave you only specific platforms IIRC. I always opted for Steam.

Sadly, I don't like that DS3 is Origin only, but what can you do? Now I have the trinity! =)

And I am hoping that Battlefield 3's improved enough with its "Beta-face" from long ago that it's easier to use. I so detested that browser interface.

Just an FYI to anyone on the fence on this bundle.

They give you a set of keys for both Origin AND Steam (with the exception of Battlefield 3 and Sims 3 cause of Origin exclusivity). So you can have a copy of all the others on both Steam and Origin.

Spending $5 for all this is worth it.

@simplesurf7 Well, I imagine Origin got better with its setup. But the drawback is they are consolidating EA titles onto Origin as their primary digital platform (which is why Dead Space 3, Dragon Age 2, Battlefield 3, so on are exclusive to it).

Shenanigans.

$500 = Xbox One or PS4, a game, and 1 year of PS+ for multiplayer requirements and all the other benefits.

Which sounds better, guys?

Not buying into it. Gaming PC and PS3 are content enough for my gaming until the PS3 stops getting titles. On the other hand, if the PS4 can play PS3 titles, then I'll consider buying it.
