Where did my comment go...I said long short WiiU not doing well bad sales, horrible 3rs party support now...this type of console unsustainable like this every gen.
A few great first party hits..tiny 3rd party trickle...da fack kind of home console is that? Just there to be an unnecessary third and LAST pillar?
@theAllez99 And the Wii U doesn't have any games? I cant wait to play COD and basically do anything without the TV on at that...in bed remotely...wirelessly with virtually no lag on a 6.2 inch touchscreen.
If you buy one Wii U comes with gamepad..does all this out of the box bog standard no need to buy extra hardware. If I have also own a 3DS(do not need to have as Wii u uses gamepad, but some gamers own home and portables too ya know :) ) connectivity with Wii U is a given(Nintendo been doing that since GBA-Gamecube etc etc) no need to get an app or extra hardware.(the smart device thing I guess Miiverse app...which is on PC browser and smartphone is comparable)
To do this for Playstation you must get the software Playstation App+A PS VIta+Vita TV hardware+PS4 ...i am just saying out of the box Wii U does it all for cheaper with just the console and gamepad. That is all I am saying as an observation. Yes i guess Miiverse is comparable to the Playstation app but downloading an app is no big deal just look at the rest of what you require for all this to work. I just had to point out all the things and steps required. ok that is all I wanted to point out.
Digital download or should I say streaming data from high powered servers(way more powerfull than Wii,Xbox360 and even the great CELL processor PS3 and any high end PC) is the future of gaming.(wether this is successful or not(and i think it will be once all the kinks/growing pains are worked out when they go LIVE later this year(no pun intended?) We have seen it with Xboxlive arcade, PSN and last but not least WiiWare. I said it before but people didn't agree with me. While these buggers have been stealthily creating this "system" for nearly a decade)The disc is fading away and to an extent the Retailer(they should be jumpy right about now about this?) The only thing I guess they will be selling are accesories when its all said and done.(retailers?)(and the onlive box? hehe). But hey for now consoles are not going anywhere? yet so they are still in biz(nearly 50-mill Wiis out there)..but lets see where this ONLIVE thing goes...the next few 1-2 years should be very interesting for gaming indeed! Heck the next 6-8 months?...
Bring the games on! Thats all I have to say. I dont care to discuss, oh why didn't they do this before..blah blah blah....its the way it goes down. Its only here now. Live with it. (obviously there are reasons-Nintendo devleoped teh Wii back then using accelorometers..but now the combo of gyroscopes in wii motion+ as the tech has advacned with teh accelorometers in the current Wiiremote they just now added it in..I dont care..all that matters is that its here) I would love to see Star Wars Force Unleashed and Clone Wars delayed OR at least code added to support it later(like capcom is considering to do in certain of its titles under development for Wii)..but what would the point be? Wouldn't it increase dev time...Wouldn't make much sense since those games were built from the groud up with CURRENT Wiimote in mind? And how long would it take to implement support for full 3d 1:1 motion sensing...well I could only summise a great long time depedning on the elements of gameplay...which can be VERY specific...and of course the enitre scope of motion controls would be drastically changed as lots more things can be accomplished now that you have true 1:1 3d space motion controls. Anyway, am just glad this is here. I cant wait...going forward the Wii only looks better...the system just need better attention(one thing: actual features of multiplatfrom games should make it to Wii(NO GIMPING!),Wii Motion+ and for once make actual use of the Wii's graphics chipset and make a TRUE graphics engine for Wii and not dirty cheap easy port...I really woud like to know how FAR Wii can be pushed graphically..I want to see someone push that to its break kneck limits AND have immersive 1:1 3d motion sensing ...wow..gaming just got a whole lot better? no? All in all motion+ is very exciting for the future of the little white box that could. Wii.
Take it off the market and go back to their roots: AN ELECTRONICS COMPANY(Consumer Electronics OTHER THAN a games console) That would make it extremely attractive. Imagine PS3 selling on ebay exclusively for really cheap because the console was a flop?
.........EDITED.... As a core Nintendo fan. Pokemon being announced as the first WIFI title is dissapointing. VERY dissapointing. Yes Nintendo have dissapointed their number one fan in me. Why don't Nintendo just place a BIG sign on the console: and mark it KIDDY. Why do they do this? Where is this great WiiConnect24 service? Where are the major franhises(and some new ones) that have great online potential in my view. Look at Metroid on DS. Although I get my ass whooped online it is just great. Not perfect(nothing is--although I cant say much bad things aboutit except I always loose badly (10 out of 98)) but its awesome. Imagine that on Wii. Just imagine. Imagine anything on Wii online and how much more immersive it can be? I just don't get it. Pokemon? Nintendo Pokemon? I think its time, Nintendo. Everything you said was true. The Wii is for everyone. It changes the way we play and interact with our games. It changes everything. With Wii sports alone(a pack in game) you have the non-gaming crowd and even NEW GAMERS covered. And even core gamers anjoy that. I know I like it!!! Now its about damn time the CORE audience gets pleased.9with the other stuff) I know its only a few months the Wii has been out. But things like this make the Wii look bad. Well to me. I dont play pokemon and never will. In fact maybe its because I just HATE RPGs in general! I am not an RPG fan period! Give me action/adventure or an FPS, racing and/orsports simulation or futuristic racers anyday or platformers like SuperMario64...SuperMario Galaxy anyone? Not pokemon. If anything a MARIO title should of been the first WIFI title. Isn't Mario the main Mascot of Nintendo? When I think Nintendo I don't think pokemon? Who the hell makes these decisions. I realy want to know. Pokemon? Come on Nintendo your sitting on al lteh "big guns". Surely "Wii can't go on like this."
