Admittedly I'm not an anime or manga fan, however I respect the heck out of this guy and his accomplishments and importance to that industry as well as the gaming industry. R.I.P sir.

I realize it doesn't work like this as Xbox is branching out due to being in a position of weakness and Sony are in a position of power, but it would be nice if they kind of traded games. Sea of Thieves is coming to PS5 in April, so...it would be cool if Sony would reciprocate and bring Helldivers 2 to Xbox. I own all the platforms so I don't have a horse in this race, but I just think it makes sense for everyone.

@boobytrap: True. It was only a year after PS2 in North America, but yes PS2 had crazy momentum behind it due to the success of PS1, plus DVD was the new hot thing at the time so people looked at the PS2 as a necessity being a 2-for-the-price-of-one type unit that they could play games on and also watch movies.

And I agree that IF all or even most of their exclusives go to PS5 and/or Switch/Switch 2, that will pretty much kill their hardware sales. Even if the games are "free" on day 1 on Game Pass and/or have a period of console-exclusivity, I'm not sure those are strong enough reasons for anyone to want to buy an Xbox.

27 million sold halfway through this current console generation is nothing to sneeze at. If the Series S / X sell 50 million total this gen, that'll still make them like the 10th best selling home console(s) of all-time. To put it into perspective, the OG Xbox only sold 24 million in it's entire lifespan.

No matter what they say next week, for me personally it doesn't change anything. I'm a 46 year old gamer with an 18 year old son who's an even bigger gamer. We buy ALL of our multiplatform games on Xbox due to both of us owning Series X's. We buy 1 copy digitally and both get to play it due to game sharing (profiles are on each other's console with his as my primary and mine as his...most of you know how it works by now). I have a PS5 but he doesn't so since we both want to play as many games as possible, I simply can't afford to purchase every multiplatform game twice at $90 CAD. Thus my PS5 is ONLY for exclusives. And I've noticed a slight increase on the PS and XB stores as many upcoming titles are now listed at $93.99 and $94.50 CAD for the standard editions...so we'll for sure be continuing the same pattern going forward.

Prepare to have to change the art style of the characters dramatically or be shut down.

Of course it would be Eddie that "breaks" this important news for Xbox...

Probably because the original Xbox was essentially a PC in a console's body with all off-the-shelf PC components.

The Switch is NOT the current market leader as it's not technically part of this console generation. It's the same thing that most get wrong about the Dreamcast being part of the Xbox/PS2/GameCube generation, it's NOT. The Dreamcast and Switch are both "Tweener" systems. Dreamcast rightfully belongs in the PS1/N64/Saturn generation. Switch belongs with the PS4/XB1 gen.
