PCs are constantly changing but everyone is using them. There are a million different models and specs and you can constantly upgrade them. What I think is giving them the future is that integrated graphics are becoming much better. So for all sorts of games but not FPSs you can play on almost any pc. This is why we are seeing the rise of social gaming and the proliferation of all these small studios. It also seems pretty clear that the way piracy will be combated will be with the requirement of always being connected to a game server. I think that future of consoles will to become more like PCs. They will retain their big advantage of having constant hardware for developers to work with and also present turnkey solutions to parents. However, they are going to have to offer much more than just gaming to stay relevant.

You can imagine with all the layoff notices here on gamespot how loyal employees will be to a given studio or project. Given even a limited incentive they will jump to a new one because lets face it their loyalty wont be repaid.

I cant think of too many villains in any game that really were that memorable to me. I did really like how Bullfrog's Syndicate turned you into a villain by kidnapping people off the streets and turning them into your mindless agents.
