The original was one of the most linear, hand-holding shooters I've ever played. It'll be a sign of progress if I'm allowed to open doors by myself in the sequel.
I had honestly never even heard of this game until the day of its release, and the track record of the developer isn't the best; I was expecting a bad game. But after watching some videos of it and reading a few reviews, it looks and sounds like good fun. I'll probably buy it.
Does anyone remember Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth? That was a pretty underrated horror game with a few really great sequences. It's also the only game I've played to date that caused me to have nightmares, and I usually don't get phased by any scary game, movie, or book.
I loved the original Dead Space. Even the title screen gave me the chills.
The second one was good also, but it was more of an action game and wasn't very scary.
Like nearly everyone else, I bought DS3 in the latest Humble bundle. I have to say that I do like it, but it's really far removed from the original. It's pretty much a straight-up action game with the Dead Space name. How can survival horror be scary when you can make an assault rifle that shoots acid bullets and has a grenade launcher strapped to it?
