@bluefox755 it's a good thing then that Guillaume accepts the fact that there is, in fact, a place for the "mindless action flicks". you should be happy he isn't one of those people that blame society's ills on those types of games :)

@jcr8 @EdotheHero @grbolivar @nurnberg I wasn't complaining, I was simply discussing, and sharing my opinion. And I'm not saying I'm not going to do anything, nor that we shouldn't or can't do anything. Why did you assume that?

@WereCatf @Daian I think it's a hole we've dug ourselves into - men are more attracted to the industry so their games are more geared towards men and so more men become attracted to the industry and so more games become geared towards men.

@grbolivar @nurnberg Contrary to your belief, feminists don't believe that women are undertreated, they believe that women should have the same treatment as men (so it doesn't need to be that they are undertreated).

Also, I agree when you say that there's no conspiracies or other crap preventing them to work in this industry, but I don't think they're the only factors playing a role here. What I think: women tend to lean away from programming and video games not because they want to, but because there's nobody advising them to take that career. what I'm saying is it's not just about women not wanting to, it's the traditional way of teaching and living that cause women to stray away from these things. Call it bias, call it sexism, I believe it's a place that we've been stuck in for a while now and the only way to change that is for everyone to change their attitude towards the games industry. Things like that don't just fall from the sky, though. IMO

@hurricanea7x @EdotheHero Yeah I get what you mean, the series could have been slowed down a bit. This first gameplay video shows some interesting things but I'm not quite sold on it yet. Guess we'll have to see what else the game has to offer... to be honest I was never that excited about it in the first place since its reveal as compared to AC III :/ But maybe that's because I haven't played AC III yet lol

I'm still really confused as to why many of those industry people are comparing full-fledged console gaming to casual online/mobile gaming - its not as if the real gamers here are gonna switch from playing Bioshock Infinite to playing Angry Birds?! i.e we're still passionate about console gaming and we'll continue to have demand for console gaming (or am I missing something there?)

If they're talking about the next generation of humanity forgetting about console games and what real video games are and in turn only playing Angry Birds, then that's another story. But we all know that's stretching it, right? There's no way gaming will turn into that, and if it does, I'll be long gone.

@hurricanea7x it was in development alongside ac3 at some point (2011), but if it looks rushed then thats a shame lol. but maybe your assumption that it was in development after ac3 i.e for only one year influenced your opinion on the game somehow? just something to think about :)

@leimonides I think they're very proud. It was interesting for them to mention the bankruptcy that followed, but I still think they're very proud of their game. Just because they talk about something like this at one point in time doesn't mean they're not happy with what they made. It's always good to look back on project development, and if they can prevent the situation they're talking about here in the future, then I think there's nothing wrong with that :) Also, I believe they're very ambitious developers, and if developers want to continue developing in the long run, then financial success is necessary.

@Ringx55 I think the announcement was last minute - whether or not they're shoe horning it into the game last minute is not stated here.
