@vladi987 @EdotheHero regardless of whether it happens or not, using the 'they are getting paid' logic (or there lack of) instead of accepting the bigger picture is nonsense.

I don't see how Tom's score of 8 has anything to do with Carolyn's article over here - there's nothing strange going on, and I don't see how you can't see that reviewers have different opinions on things. This website does not give games scores - it's reviewers do.

and again, I don't think you understand what the article is talking about, because it's definitely not about sexism. The fact is, a lot of games have this common structure of 'man loses woman who means the world to him, sets off on a journey fueled by revenge etc'. this is not sexism, and Carolyn is not suggesting this. but this is something that exists in many games today - surely you can see that for yourself? otherwise you are the naive one over here.

i hope that cleared it up for you. i can't stand people using the word 'sexism' in such an irrelevant way.

@holtrocks In my understanding PS3 hardware is not comparable to PC hardware - porting it would be a hell of a lot of work.

@Duke_51 i don't think you understood the article. in more simpler terms, creating a new IP and profiting from just one game = loss in the long run. creating a new IP requires a lot of investment, and this investment can only be paid back in the long run with future titles i.e. deciding to create just one game is too expensive on resources. in Ubisoft's case, when they decided to build Watch Dogs they had to think about whether investing into this entirely new IP would be worth it or whether they would end up making a loss over time.

hope that made it clear for you :)

@vladi987 @arr_me_maytee This topic is more complicated than you think, and I believe it is something worth thinking about - nothing will change (change can be both bad and good) if we continue to pretend it doesn't exist. You're making it sound as if you can't handle the truth (desperation to 'stop with this nonsense' as you so clearly put it)

And if you are someone who believes in the 'they are getting paid' nonsense, then don't expect anyone to take your opinion seriously. Please come up with more valuable criticism if you want your voice to be properly heard.

@Xenrathe i agree with a few of your points, but it's funny though, my PS3 hasn't broken once and it's 4/5 years old, and last time i checked, you can't just swap around PC games to every computer out there either (steam being a brilliant example, where one payment means one key), so the 'used games' argument lies on both sides anyway.

the only reason i also have a pretty good PC is because i had the money to spend; it's not the best PC out there but it was still much more expensive than my PS3, and i think PCs will always be more expensive (monitors, mice, keyboards etc are extra things you need to buy, and the fact that you have the ability to write an e-mail or report adds to the price point), even for a PC that is "on the same level" as a PS3 (unless you build a PC yourself as i've heard that's cheaper, but I don't have the brains to do it, and even if everyone did go out and start building their own PCs i don't think that would be very good for the general PC market - ironic, right?).

i think that's where console gaming comes in, when consumers want a device on which they can get to their gaming on their living room TV, out-of-the-box, without any other operating system hassle (computer-wise) or having to choose specs before purchase and checking the price hassle - what they see is what they get, and games will be developed for it (outstanding exclusives will also be available for their entertainment). some people don't care about extra features or being able to upgrade graphics cards or modding or using an nvidia geforce 660 ti card to run indie games, and gaming consoles are (cheaper) alternatives that aim to deliver games to their users. that's where the console gaming market lies. IMHO

@GameBeaten @EdotheHero @MonoSilver good point, but personally i wouldn't want to fall behind on the next console cycle. plus if the ps3 will be really cheap then i dont think you'll need to "save up", as that implies saving up much more money than the amount for a pretty damn cheap ps3. also not sure how much cheaper ps3 will be on ps4's launch, maybe itll be that ps4 will be more expensive instead of the other way round..

@MonoSilver why are you saving up for a PS3 when the PS4 is just around the corner? :)
