Well, with the new TOU being what it is you would really have to be saying something illegal or be posting something that is totally out of line to get banned.

And then other people get let back in after they decided to rub the system the wrong way? Get personal with mods and stuff. Bah!

There's already a topic about this here, you can feel free to add to the discussion.

Actually SW IS one of the only forums that we encourage users "duking it out" If you direct your attention to the rules of the various boards you'll see that there are 4 to 5 board rules. For example:

Primary Games Discussion:

- Follow theTerms of Useandread the FAQ.
- Be respectful and you'll be respected in return.
- No discussion of illegal activities.
- Cross-Platform debates belong in the System Wars forum

Off TopicForum Rules:

- Follow theTerms of Useand read theFAQ.
- Game and platform discussions NOT allowed.
- Keep the discussions work friendly. More details in the FAQ.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions.
- Hate speech not permitted.

The platform forums also have their rules sets as well.

Spamming is also not something that we are permitting.

Also it's important to keep in mind that it is possible to ignore other users. The idea behind the new ToU focuses on the ability for users to be able to self moderate. If you see there is a troll topic, don't post in it because all that does is bump it higher in the queue.

Also I'm going to make this VERY CLEAR!

If you have a problem with the current policy PLEASE PM ME! Seriously!! I know some of you have already sent me some private messages about your concern in regards to the new TOU but by all means keep those messages coming. We do want to listen to the community and we are aware that changes need to be made. But first we need to find that balance.

If you want to see change feel free to PM me, or send an email to Synthia@gamespot.com. Add me on Steam even! I'm here to help you guys, not ignore you. The more support for change the more likely it is that it will happen. Make blogs marked as editorial about what changes you dislike and how you would like to see things changed. Simply saying "I don't like this" isn't nearly as helpful as some might thing. Offer up your suggestions because otherwise a vague and glib interpretation of your vision for the site will only result in more deliberation about rules for forums.
