I must have gotten lucky. I bought my original 60gig for $300 from a pawn shop last month:D And it still looks like new.T-AldousYes, yes you did get VERY lucky - I just froogled the 60gb and new ones are starting at $1000 and going for as much as $2000. Reminds me of the launch frenzie. I would just suggest buying a new PS2 to go with your PS3 before spending that kind of dough. However if you are able to find a used one in good condition - and an affordable price - then that's the way to go.

No.
God of War III.taplokBoth will be good - but yeah - GOW 3 will be the number one game on the PS3 is my predicition.
All the games listed are going to be great and must haves, but if I could only choose one it would be...
GOW 3
Yes - you need a HDD to store music, download videos, game demos, game add on levels, etc...
Luckily right now you can get a 20gb HDD for fairly cheap...
You can get them used for around $40 or here is a link for a new (or maybe factory refurb) for $60:

You may decide you want a bigger than 20gb hard drive - but this is an affordable option if you think it's all you need.
Sorry man you missed the BC boat. NONE of the current models support BC. There are still a few of the 80gb models with 4 USB ports floating around out there in limbo - and an even more scarce handful of 20gb and 60gb models - but all of the current models sitting on store shelves have no BC. Just keep (or buy) a PS2 and you'll be fine.
There is the rumor and chance that in the future SONY may add BC (SWEmu) to the rest of the PS3's but that is only a rumor at this point and most likely won't happen for a long time.
I have seen New In Box 60gb units on the net still - but their prices are WAY jacked up due to demand. I saw one the other day for $800 that was new in box. So if you want to pay 3 times the price of a PS2 in addition to the cost of a current PS3 - then you can get what you want. However like I said - i would just get a current PS3 for PS3 games and BluRay movies, and keep your PS2 for PS2 games. Plus you have a 100% compatibility that way.
All the BC models are NOT current. All the current models do not support any BC. So if you find one of the 4 port 80gb models or a 60gb or 20gb model somewhere snatch it up, because all of the current PS3's sitting on the shelves at your local retailer do not support BC.
No you can't sorry.
A switch will allow your devices to connect with each other - but will not allow them to connect to the internet. A switch is good for network gaming (LAN gaming).
A router usually has a switch built in as it gives you the ability to connect multiple devices with each other just like a stand alone switch. The difference is that a router will allow all those devices to share the internet connection as well.
So really for what you want - you want a router - a switch is good for going to a friends house and hooking your consoles together (or PC's) to play against each other. But for the net you need to have a router if you want the devices to connect to the internet.
For me it's 100%.
Multiplats are exercised elsewhere.
LOL its being developed by SONY no way is stockholm would it come to the 360 but ill pick it up for the ps3 looks goodhalo3-playerExactly!!! It's an actual SONY game so the chance of a 360 version is ABSOLUTE ZERO. SONY games will stay exclusive for always - unlike some third party developers such as Konami *cough, cough*
