"was disappointed at the E3, common the whole Nintendo conference was about their plan to attract non-gamers to the industry and about wii fit! Nintendo spent more time with that crappy wiifit that with Prime3, Mario Galaxy, phantom hourglass, mario kart wii and brawl together, and that my people is very disappointing for the people who is loyal to them"

e3 is diffrent

:|non-gamers well that part of the market now right?

so i will be buying wiifit :|how is it crappy since you tried it before?oh they spend more time on something else than what they awlays are quite about there big hitters it is normal :|

alexin_05

what if suddenly nintendo cancels wii fit well nothing is going to happen, we are still be happy and be loyal to nintendo, but what if they cancel mario galaxy or brawl, then nintendo is dead! so if you know this is going to happen then you don't advertise a game that is not worth it insteadyou advertise your strong games

And metroid prime 3 could be a strong game if they wanted to push it. I think it will still be a great game, I'm looking forward to it, and it will probably sell enough to make it worth it, but it could be a lot more. Its like nintendo is trying to cover up their skull tattoo to get a job in a nursing home.

"I was trying to use benign comments rather than saying things that could get me suspended. Its called being civil. Nintendo isnt promoting metroid prime 3 as much as more casual games that are still many month away. Sorry if you think thats nintendo hating, but its whats going on. "

thats the main market not hardcore gamers. hardcore gamers already know when the game will be out know alot of already.

hardcore gamers are online and dont need an add.

casuals need to know since they know nothing your logic is still flaw. well you still didnt need to use those words did you no :|

wavebrid
And if you read on of my comments, you would know I already highlighted the difference between the casual and hardcore market. Mass appeal vs niche. But this demonstrates the importance of advertising. If the hardcore make up a smaller market, and dont need advertising to inform them, then those games will sell a lot fewer copies because there are fewer hardcore gamers than casuals. Marketing to the casual audience can help bring a lot of uninformed consumers to a product and help it sell a lot better. Dude, your talking to me like I'm an idiot. You are barking up the wrong tree.

[QUOTE="Darthmatt"][QUOTE="alexin_05"]maybe Nintendo will release next monday Super Metroid for the virtual console to promote Prime 3, but still they have to put some adds in magazines or TValexin_05

Exactly. For a game being released this month where are the ads? All the game magazines that cover august are already out. Where is the internet site? www.metroid.com doesnt even have any info on prime three. Not even retro studios website. Its like this game is still a year away.

well here in Mexico almost all of the videogames magazines show a metroid prime3 front page, but you are right I haven't seen a metroid 3 advertisement in the net or in stores

You're right, I think most of the promotion has come from magazines and game sites doing stories on the game. But thats isn't the same as advertising and sometime counterprodutive, especially if the magazine says the game sucks.

Go to the wii forum if you want to flame anyone talking negative about nintendo. BTW, I'm wearing a nintendo T-shirt today, so all you've said about me being a nintendo hater is bunk. "

"uh, you are a vicious one. Then you tell me why they aren't promoting MP3. And no, there is nothing flawed about my logic. Nintendo puts millions into marketing games that appeal to casuals (larger market) and spends very little to promote games that appeal to hardcore gamers (niche market). It makes sense economically, but it also has an alienating effect to people who enjoy game series like metroid Prime. It says to me, that nintendo is walking away from that crowd. And BTW, I've had my wii since launch, and its the only current gen system I own for now, so you can get off rabid attacks. I've always been a big nintendo fan, but lately I'm seeing them go in directions that bother me.

b1. go to gamestop and see the huge poster of MP3 :| Posters in a game store =/= major advertisin. Where are the Magazine ads, website?

b2. its not coming out for awhile. Prime 3 is comming out this month.

b3. it tells me you dont know ******. Yes, I dont know kungfu:P but I do know a thing or two about gaming.

b4 . a diffrent road :| is not a diffrent diterciton you guys wanted nintendo to follow the corwd than you should of bought n64, cube and you wouldnt have a problem :| Bought those systems.

Dude, you need to lay off the angry pills.

b1. Nintendo never adveriste and people already know about it

2. its not coming out till 8/27/07 :| plenty of time

3. so do i and you dont see things and you just being the same as cows, lemmings, hermits

4. thats not my problem they do something diffrent they get flame beacuse you dont like the way it going you should of know in the beggining :|

[QUOTE="Darthmatt"]I'm worried that nintendo isnt even promoting the game.wavebrid

That is concerning, paired with the rumors that it'll only be shipped in limited quantities at first. Then again, I'm sure there's a rationale behind it. I just have no idea what it is.

Its odd. What concerns me in this situation is they have a chance to actually appeal to the hardcore crowd and they are acting like the game doesnt exist. But then some home fitness game is the heart of their e3 presentation. nintendo is looking more and more out of touch lately.

god your sound like the rest of the fanboys on there forums. just beacsue they show one wiifit game

hardcore gamrers are gone

the only people out of touch are cows, lemmings and you

 Uh, you are jumping to conclusions here. Maybe if you took off the Mario sunglasses you would realize there is a lot of truth to what I said. Lets see, a major portion of their e3 presentation dedicated to a casual fitness game vs. no promotional material or official website dedicated to a popular sci-fi action shooter launching in three weeks. Put it together.

mario sungglasess? reallly :|

wifit- causl

mario kart- hardcore nintendo fan causla

mario glaxey- hard nintendo fans casuals

your logic is falw :| and you dang well know it

Not at all. Even at nintendo.com, the MP3 page is almost bare compared to the Pirates wii game. This has to be a joke.

Nintendo is acting like they have this hardcore game, but they don't want to promote it because hardcore gamers aren't worth it.
