BTW guys this is the same exact guy who doubted resistance 2 getting an AAA score and he posted a list of things that resistance 2 needed to score AAA...MR.Negative here there is no such thing as perfection especially in gaming. U gain some features and u lose some thats just the way it isNice thread - but it is mainly the positives and the potential outcome
People should be excited about the game , but worried how the press will receive it. Some people see these things as big negatives and it could ultimately affect scores -
- no-co-op? - Counter-argument - Call of Duty 4 and Crysis Warhead. Do you think the majority of the press is more likely or less likely to give Guerrilla games the same break on this one ? People may even forget about those games and wonder why Resistance 2 , World at War , and Gears 2 have co-op play but Killzone 2 doesn't. Could be a point or 2 off automatically for some reviewers.
- It is too much like Call of Duty 4 , meaning that we have already played the game , this one is just a different coat of paint
- It is too different from Call of Duty 4 - Not arcady enough , controls are sluggish , hard to aim , "not fun" , too slow , etc
- It is on the ps3 , meaning that a group of people will claim they hate the controller and shooters just won't work on the ps3 , or ps3 isn't known for their shooters (watch Gamespot's start/select)
- no regular multiplayer deathmatch - there are a group of people that just won't accept a multiplayer game without it , it's true
- The Helghast have red eyes - Yes , this is going to be a huge reason as to what makes the game lame in the eyes of many
- the cover system - it just won't make sense to some people. They will either wonder why the aren't protected like in other games , or wonder why it is absent in multiplayer if they do like it.
- the death animations - eventhough a lot of the glitches will be cleaned up , they will still be there and you will see odd things at times because they are trying a complex system. Some aren't going to like how it looks when you kill someone and it will delay a bit in multiplayer which will bother some people.
- the dialogue - ohhhhh god is all I have to say about this one. I heard that the developers have placeholder voices and some of the dialogue will be changed , but expect a lot of reviewers to really pan the dialogue. The counter-argumnet - Gears 2. But Gears may get the pass on that because it is cheese from the get go and your these hulk-like characters that are shooting aliens so it might be more acceptable and forgivable than a more reallistic approach that may come off as odd or offensive. Lots of swearing in Killzone 2 , people might think that they are trying too hard or went to far with it and the cheesy one-liners will be laughed at for ages. Lots of the lines and grunts will be repeated and repeated that will become annoying to a lot of people. They assured us that it won't be Haze-like dialogue , but I suspect that there will be lots of corny-lines that will hurt the game in a lot of reviewers eyes.
- Style - some people simply don't like the dark setting with a lot of gray and brown environments
- Issues with multiplayer - the list is immense at the things some people don't like about it - turn too slow , aiming is too hard , kill someone too fast ulike their favorite game , no enough game modes , too many players for the maps , not enough maps , no innovative modes , ..... I could list things all day long.
- A.I. - By most accounts it is good and the game is said to be very challenging with a forgiving checkpoint system and the enemies do some interesting things , but people will have their issuses and gripes because A.I. is never perfect and they will do some dumb things at times.
- Overall just too run-of-the mill , non-innovative , generic , just fighting nazis is space , been there-done that mantra
This game will be put under a different microscopes , expect a lot of people to see different things.good luck Killzone 2
