Halo 3: Recon Is 5-6 Hours Long, Not A $60 Title

I'm hoping for about a 19.99 price tag. :)

Thoughts ?

Someone's already got their hands on the Halo 3: Recon-themed December issue of Game Informer. Spilled the beans. Those beans tell us that, as you could probably have guessed when you first heard it spoken of as an "expansion", Halo 3: Recon is only 3-5 hours long. Which is pretty damn short. Luckily, then, it'll have a pretty damn short price tag, Bungie's Joe Staten saying "we do not view this as a $60 title". Hopefully he means $30, and not $59.99. Also mentioned is the fact the expansion will allow users to unlock the previously unlockable Recon armour, provided you've completed the Vidmaster Challenge achievements.

wow..I expected a whole new campaign, not 3 or 4 levels

19.99 sounds about right. Any higher is really pushing it. I'm definitely not buying this for 60

anyways if this game is counted , then so do all PC expansions.

I think the length isn't my real concern with this title. As long as I don't feel like I'm the Master Chief, we'll probably have a winner on our hands...musicalmac

60 euros (full price for games in Europe) is equal to $60 (full price in the US)

Except the Mass Effect DLC was only around two hours long. That would simply not cut it for an expansion. Shivering Isles on the other hand is a better example of an expansion that came out on PC's and Consoles.

Well lets see how much less then the $60 mark before bashing. Seems one of those where we will need more info to not just randomly bash. I agree though if it is 5 hours and $50 for example then ya that will stink. To many games are short with single player and no online this gen and that is a joke. I can say at least Bungie is not charging full price and they said there will be new online maps to play on.

No, I didn't miss them. I am saying, if they count or if they don't count, not a big deal either way. Not really worth fighting over, as long as you know that they can be great experiences either way.

Overpriced expansion pack... It was so obvious from the time it was announced. Dahaka-UK

Mirror's Edge took me no more than six hours to beat and I felt fulfilled in spending $67 (aftre tax) on it. Even if I wasn't so very much compelled to go back to it and do all the speed runs and time trials I would have been happy with the single play through experience.

Game length is not in any way inherent to value or enjoyment.

I think if its an expansion then I would be willing to pay maybe £24.99 but yeah I bet it will be up there at the full £39.99

Because a lot of people in a lot of system wars discussions play the "Expansions don't count" card.

Quality > Quantity

Halo 3 SP was amazing, i replaid it many times for the achievements and had lots of fun each time. The fact that it takes place on Earth and the price of the game, its simply a Halo fans dream. Heck its a darn budget title
