It seems like the only real major flaw is combat AI, which anyone playing the game correctly really shouldn't even have to deal with. Still, definitely playing on Purist. I just can't play Hitman with all of those handicaps, it feels...wrong.
I wouldn't say innovation, more like variety. Innovative things are innovative for a reason: because no one's thought of them before. As a medium gets older and more and more people keep thinking of new ideas eventually new ideas become harder to come by. What we need is variety. Look at last generation compared to this one. Did Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, Resident Evil, Spec Ops, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six used to look anything alike? No. They were all completely different games with completely different styles of play. Look at them now: they're all the same picture with different shades of paint. We need variety, or else videogames as an entire medium simply become boring and uninteresting.
@OtherFabbros The problem is that Mortal Kombat 9 and Deus Ex: HR were really good entries in their franchises so they really weren't the best examples.
You know, I get that they wanted to use an existing IP to cash in on name recognition; but if you were going to do that, why not choose Bourne? I mean this gameplay style already fits that franchise and Bourne is even more recognizable than Splinter Cell to the audience they're trying to reach with this game. This game would have been amazing if they had just called it Bourne instead.
@Dawg9000 Um, the new Hitman looks great, I don't know what you're talking about, unless you've just seen the CG trailers. Have you seen the Chinatown gameplay? It looks just like classic Hitman, an example these developers should learn to follow
The voice actor does a good job and impersonates Ironside's acting style very well, but his voice is simply too young to be Sam. Sam's in his 50's, and this guy sounds like he's in his 20's.
